IntheBCRCyoumayhearstaffrepeatedlyusing certainwords…“Community”,“PIVOT!”,“Survivor” and“Thriver”.Ifyouhaveexperiencedacancer diagnosis,atragedy,asuddenlossorthe unexpectedhappened,thenyoumostlikelyare familiarwithourBCRClingo.
Sometimes,plansdon’talwaysgothewayyou expectthemto…that’swhenthewordPIVOT comesin.AccordingtoGoogleonedefinitionof thewordpivotisto“completelychangetheway inwhichonedoessomething”.AccordingtoRoss Geller,PIVOTissomethingyoushoutrepeatedlyto givedirectionsonhowtofitahugecouchupa narrowstairwell.
Whenitcomestoprovidingthebestandmost helpfulprogramsforbreastcancersurvivorsand thrivers,thereisneverenoughmoneyortime.And thus,wePIVOT!
Intimesofneed,neighborsfromallovertheworld pitchintohelp.Whetheritbethroughprayers, donationsorpeoplepower;thegreater communitytriestolendwhattheycantohelp improvethelivesofothersinneed.Communityis whattheBCRCdependsontohelpuscontinue supportingsurvivorsandthrivers.Withoutthe supportofourgreatercommunity,wecannot helpsurvivorsconnecttooneanother,access vitalresources,andfindstrengthwithin themselves.
AttheBCRC,weknowthatsurvivorshipisnota solojourney;it’sonefueledbycompassion, flexibility,andunwaveringcommunitysupport.
Whetheryou'reasurvivor,athriver,avolunteer,or someonecheeringfromthesidelines,youarepart ofourstory.Thankyouforbeingpartofour communityandforhelpingusPIVOTwithpurpose.
