Changing the Landscape in the State with 10,000 Disparities We’ve often said that Minnesota is the state with as many disparities as it has lakes. In Minnesota, we may label ourselves a bastion of progress, yet we stand with some of the worst disparities in the country. When we consider opportunity and access for good education, health, employment and housing, too many of us are struggling.
The challenge is daunting. How do we address complex inequities that impact the quality of life for so many? How do we even begin the work toward equity when disparities seem so deeply entrenched? To change the landscape, we have to dig up the roots. We must look to the causes to find the solutions. And we must embed the concept of equity in every action we take. Each year with your support, here’s how we take action: • We teach people how to talk about racism in their workplace and communities, and offer tools to better participate in the democratic process. • We provide children with anti-bias early learning programs that jumpstart their educational journeys. • We give girls and youth opportunities to be leaders and connect them to role models for success. • We offer welcoming, inclusive spaces for all people to come together and achieve good health and wellness. Racial Justice and Public Policy TOGETHER, WE BUILD A COMMUNITY OF CHANGEMAKERS. Many people want to take action to bring about positive change, but don’t know where to start. Through racial justice training, Inc.ludeTM consulting, advocacy and education, we bring communities together, facilitate dialogue and help people create meaningful action in their lives.

Our high-quality afterschool and summer programs use culturally responsive, research-based curriculum that supports youths’ voices, helps them make healthy, meaningful choices and provides them with successful role models who reflect their own identities.
