DONOR SPOTLIGHT: GWYNETH & ROY WESTWICK In recognition of 50 years as subscribers to Vancouver Opera, we dedicate this Donor Spotlight to Gwyneth and Roy Westwick. This dynamic couple has been contributing for many years and Gwyneth has provided leadership and support to the Vancouver Opera Guild for more than 10 years. Both originally from Vancouver, on their first outing together Gwyneth and Roy went to see La Traviata at the Orpheum with the Metropolitan Opera Touring Company. “It was love at first sight—both for Roy and for the opera.” says Gwyneth. In the early 1960’s they lived in London where they became regular opera-goers at Covent Garden. In 1968 they bought their first season tickets to Vancouver Opera and have been with us ever since. The Westwicks' passion for opera spans several generations, with their children and grandchildren taking part in the many productions and education initiatives offered by Vancouver Opera. Two of their three children live in Vancouver; one is a subscriber and major donor and the other plays violin with the VO Orchestra. Two of their grandchildren were introduced to opera at an early age and have attended our Opera Camp numerous times between 2015 and 2017. We are truly grateful for your love and support of Vancouver Opera. Thank you for your dedication. VO DEVELOPMENT
