VANS MAGAZINE FY25 PART 2

Page 1

Hey VANS people!

How is everyone out there?

I have the privilege write the intro on this edition, and for that reason I would like to start it by sharing with you all something really special that has happened to us in these last months.

Some of you maybe already know that 5 months ago, on

What a day, and what an adventure we started as a family!

She is growing fast and healthy and we are learning from her every single day.

And speaking about learning, here is a reflection I would love to share with you all today.

The little Gala arrived 2 weeks before the forecasted date (not a drama at all), and since the very first day she gave us her first lesson:

Why am I telling you this? Because we were expecting her by mid Feb, and suddenly on a Sunday night when we were about to go to sleep and start a new week the morning after, Gala decided it was time to welcome her.

LITTLE GALA

As I was saying, things in life happen and that’s fine, we just need to react and accept them and act accordingly.

In my head, I was expecting to leave everything ready before my paternity, those two weeks ahead that I was supposed to be working before the forecasted date, I had plenty of meetings and work ahead to leave my coverage plans ready, we even had pendant to finish some home set ups details for the baby, etc, etc, etc.... And it never happened as I had on my plans. But that was fine!! Here we are back in the business 5 months later and everything remains were I left! If I would have known this the weeks before Gala came to this world, I would have avoided some stressful moments or concerns on how things would have been that most of them in the end did not even happen.

This principle can be applied in many aspects in our life.

Is it useful for us to get stressed also after, when something has already happened? NO!!!!! We just need to accept them, react, and keep moving the ball ahead.Uncertainty is our worst enemy in life, so its worthy not to worry on things that are out of our control, but to control the things we can. This is definitely one of the biggest lessons I am learning these days.

I know we are still struggling as a business, we keep seeing our traffic figures in our stores not as we would love to... So???

We are a hyper resilient team and you must be proud. We need to stay united, we all need to row into the same direction at all levels and departments as we always do, and our flag will shine again very soon, team.

Of course we never planned that we would be into this scenario and for such long time, but it is what it is, things in life many times do not happen as we forecast. And you know what? THATS OK!!!! It will turn around!!!

I hope to see you all very soon TEAM. Cheers!

On top of content that had been built with input from our DMs, HR, Recruitment and Health and Safety… We also had our Loss Prevention Manager JAMES RIBY attend and talk us though the importance following LP SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Thanks also to Andy from Portsmouth who attended and supported the training on the day.

I want to take this opportunity to THANK ALL that attended for their hard work and enthusiasm at this meeting, as well as WELCOMING OUR NEW LEADERS to the business (or their role!)

Hi All,

I hope that you are all well! I am pleased to feedback on sessions that we ran this month in The UK and Ireland. We ran a two-day ROOKIE SESSION in Manchester, where we invited new Store Managers that have joined the business (or been promoted to SM) in the last 12 months. It was an awesome opportunity to get out of store and work together on some interesting and engaging content. We built the session around the GOAL OBJECTIVES for FY25: VALES, STORE TARGETS and COMPLIANCE. This is the first time that our goal setting had been arranged by these topics, so it made sense to deep dive what they mean and explore what impact we can have on them instore.

Hi! I'm Gerardo Rivas and i want to share my experience being part of the Vans family I'm 28 years old, I'm from El Salvador, I come from a family of artists, so i have always been a very creative person, that's why i have a professional career as Graphic designer, I must say that since I was a child, I have also been passionate about skateboarding. grew up with boards and always wore Vans sneakers on my feet. That’s why in 2024 I decided to apply for the position as a sales assistant at Vans Bilbao, which is the city where

Hi,

It’s a pleasure to introduce myself to this amazing family.

My name is Miriam, and I have been the store manager of the Vans store at the San Marino outlet for a year now.

We opened in 2021 in a new outlet, SMOE, and started getting known by the locals and summer tourists of the Riviera Romagnola

We are excited to become a Hybrid Store from February 2024, and we now have a wider selection for all our customers!

This country allowed me to join VF, in Vans, three years ago, get to know and share its values, and return to the retail world after a few years' break, confirming my passion for this sector.

I love analysing, organizing, finding ideas and solutions, and managing the countless unexpected events that can occur throughout the day, all while balancing the many interests that define me. I am passionate about reading, art, communication, yoga, meditation, and personal growth. I continuously study to improve myself and challenge myself, and often, finding time to do everything grocery shopping, tidying up the house, (and 1 husband ) and doing all this Well seems really difficult, but I know that everything has its own time, and waking up at 6.00 am certainly helps

Over the past year, I have obtained several professional certificates, including one as a training coach, and I hope this will make a difference in my communication skills every day...

All of this is to better develop the talents of my amazing Team: the tenacious Supervisor VERONICA, the authentic ALLAN, the artist DAVIDE, the musician ELFO, the magnificent CHIARA, and the sporty GIORGIA.

They are an exceptional team that deserves all my commitment to help them see and enhance their fantastic qualities.

They deserve to work in an environment ready to listen to them, make them feel appreciated, and give them the opportunity to be themselves. I am very grateful for what I experience every day and for the people who make this journey lighter and much more fascinating. I am excited to contribute my energy, passion, and dedication to this extraordinary family.
