THE2021.02SPARK~2021.04 Locating beside Daxue Rd., the main avenue to enter Cheng Kung university, a new architecture department building born. CONCEPT TAIWANESE SIGNS While we are strolling on bustling street in Taiwan, the street full of signs is the first sight of city impression. These signs serve as carrier to show the imformation inside the building, revealing the local daily life of the city. They are one of significant element to construct the image of the city.
The sketch to represent the image of taiwanese signs, and the model to make concept from flat into 3D. The concept would be carried out on each floor plan, section, elevation, and interior space design.

SOLUTION TO MAKE INSIRATION HAPPEN EVERYWHERE
To solve the problems I decided to diffuse all the funtional space in the building, relocating them, and make sure there is at less one public space between each of them. Eventually, no matter it's design studio, engineering classroom, community aesthetics classroom, lounge and so on, are close to each other.
First of all, there is a titanic gap between the design studio and architectural engineering courses. Cocsequently, we cannot easily use what we learn from these coureses on our design project. Secondlly, other people in school or society do not really understand what we are busy for and what we are pursuing. Last but not least, the current situation of department building does not allow a lot of comunication between different grades, and we are lack of chances to interact with each other. Nevertheless, As a students learning architectur design, it is critically important for us to have a mass of opprotunities to meet different people and experience various things.

PLANThere are two cores in the building. One is at the west wing, the lobby and main presentation space of architecture department , and the other one is at the east wing, the lobby and exhibition area of NCKU design center.

SITEAfterPLANTainan Underground Railway Project finish, Daxue Rd. will be an extremelly significant avenue to connect Tainan downtown and Cheng Kung university city. Therefore, the new building should act as new gate of university to welcome tourists, students, residents and so forth, to visit the campus.

BROADCASTING OLD2020.10TOWN~2020.11 The new media creators use brand new ways to broadcast all the unparalleled things happening in old Tainan city downtown though internet. Field study In the community which is full of skyscrapers people cannot easily communicate with each other. Therefore, the relationship between these people are rather weak and vulnerable. On the contrary, in the old town with low-scale houses people have much more chance to interact with their neighbor than new urban planing.
The design of curve ceiling is trying to creat a gradient space, and allowing different kinds of activities take place under one ceiling.
Thus, between these totally distinct circumstance space the site, I decided to keep the old Tainan city treasure, history and culture, in the new co-working building.
In between SITEOld Tainan city downtown is full of organic and complex context in these tortuous alleys. Nonetheless, the new urban planning at Anping Dist. is fairly minimalist and high skyscrapers, which eliminates all the historical and cultural elements of the city.

CONCEPTAlthough Taiwan is surrounded by the ocean, we still seldom visit beach and ocean. It is rather difficult for us to reach there, even though it is fairly near us. I try to place a building to break the boundary between city and the ocean, making some interesting activities happen on this surface.

COREThe green space, courtyard, in the middle of the building is the main core of this house, all rooms facing to the courtyard. It allows the daylight to get into the house, and people in each room can enjoy the energetic sunlight.

BACKGROUNDIntheyearof2099, we will be 99 years old, and we will be living in two very different forms, above and below ground. No matter how much we will be missing the past, it is no longer possible to live above ground. The sunshine, air, water, and a whole expanse of grassland we long for are all castles in the sky. In the ensuing paragraph, let me introduce what our underground life will look like in 2099!Despite the fact that the future technological development is increasingly advanced, the natural environment also fell victim to more severe damages. The problem of ozone hole and sea-level rising have become more serious, and the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has also increased. In order to survive, human beings have no choice but to turn to living underground. Due to the above-mentioned environmental changes, people start to move underground. As the underground space becomes more and more complete and prosperous, the relics of the past civilization start to disintegrate and disappear, leaving only fading memories in the hearts of the underground people. The life underground is completely different from the past, and the confusion of overlapping space and time between the past and the future, just like people who have lived underground for a long time commemorated the remnants of the past prosperous surface world left behind.

It has the most complete and strong structural strength, and can adapt to the complex underground pipeline system. SITE:TainanTAINANisthecity we are most familiar with, and according to Greenpeace, it is predicted that the rising sea level caused by extreme climate global warming will have a serious impact on Tainan. When the sea rises, 4,322,725 (ping) of building area will be submerged under the sea. Therefore, we decided to discuss from Tainan, a city with strong emotional UNDERGROUNDties.ExistingInfrastructure
With the change of time, each city has developed complex underground pipelines and infrastructures, including rainwater systems, electricity and signal pipelines, natural gas pipelines, flood storage facilities, and underground railroad systems. The future underground city is formed by reusing these infrastructures. From individual prototypes to entire cities, they must be built on these existing infrastructures to maintain operation.
