2. Keep the half of the crate with backing intact. Disassemble the excess half cleanly.
1. Cut crate halfway through its depth.

3. Cut the shelving to size. Cut the offcuts to make quadrants for the shelving to rest on.
4. Mark off equidistant marks for the three shelves, so that the topside to underside distance between the shelving is equal. Mark the relative positions for the quadrant strips, and fix the quadrant strips to the inner sides of the crate (DTL 1.) with wood glue (optional), panel pins and two screws if required.

5. Position the shelves in the frame on top of the quadrant srtips. Mark off the position of the center of the thickness of the shelves on the outside of the frame. Fix each end of the shelves through the frame from the outside (DETAIL).

6. Use the remaining board to make a new shelf etc. or cut it to size as a central support for each shelf etc.
