Project Vision

My aim was to introduce the Quercus-Betula Woodland community into this planting scheme based on the existing range in sun conditions and the tree’s tolerance to shadier conditions. This is complementary with the ecoturn planting as there is a proposed pond south of the building. With the theme of Perspective, I aimed to create an understory planting scheme for people to experience in shaded areas but also with the use of borrowed scenery. This building used to be Canon’s HQ in the UK and the Japanese stroll gardens always told a story. The story I wanted to express in this design is the journey from natural to controlled planting.
