Global Relief
Shared rePurpose Global's recovery of over 9 million kgs of low-value plastic waste, which created intersectional, socio-economic impact by enabling dignified livelihoods and stable income streams for 1,766 waste workers across 5 countries.
Amplified Food for the Hungry’s impactful work distributing cholera kits to more than 9,000 households and 45,000 children in Haiti following a cholera outbreak.
Announced Economist Impact’s 11th Global Food Security Index, which found that overall food security continues to deteriorate, affordability has dropped, the inequality gap between the most and least secure has widened, and access to water is at risk from warmer temperatures.
Enviromental Impact
Broke news of Living Carbon’s research findings, the first in the world to demonstrate the potential for plants to capture more carbon in a shorter period of time and underscoring the role of biotechnology in stabilizing the climate.
Announced the start of construction on the world's largest Direct Air Capture plant in the world, which will scale up to 1 million metric tons per year.
Announced the deployment of 65 active wildfire detection stations across the United States (60) and Australia (5), in partnership with local counties and fire agencies to increase adaptation to climate-related disasters.
Deployed a community engagement strategy to collect scores of signatures in support of Lightstar’s proposed agrivoltaic project in the town of Red Hook, New York. Agrivoltaics is an innovative and sustainable method that sees solar arrays and active farming occur on the same land.
Supported Shift Clean Energy in sharing four industry-first, live battery safety tests demonstrating the company’s safe, zero-emission solution for marine vessels.
Amplified Nexii proving that a circular construction ecosystem which reduces carbon emissions by 96%, enables 99.83% reuse of materials, and improves the health and wellbeing of community members and workers, is possible.
Broke news of SINAI closing a $22 million Series A funding round, facilitating expansion of the company’s global reach to help companies build meaningful pathways to decarbonization.
Invited national media to celebrate the Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup’s one millionth volunteer! 430 volunteers participated in shoreline cleanups across North America, collecting over 410 kg of litter.
Helped raise thousands of dollars this year to enable the Nature Trust of British Columbia to purchase ecologically important pieces of land for conservation.
Cultural Benefit
Supported 19 First Nations, Métis and Inuit emerging writers through the Audible Indigenous Writers' Circle 2022, a 26% increase from the 2021 program. Achieved a 56% year-over-year increase in applicants – indicating we're filling a need in the Indigenous literary arts community.
Amplified Peggy's Cove achieving the top accessibility rating under the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification –meaning users of all abilities can experience one of Nova Scotia's most iconic attractions.
Launched CMHA’s campaign to open a dialogue about the role of a community response to mental health, substance use, abuse and family conflict, and to raise awareness of PACT as an alternative service to a police response related to mental health. Since inception, the North Shore PACT Teams have responded to 750+ contacts (call/text/dispatch) offering support in both English and Farsi.
Economic Development
Yulu became the first PR agency in North America to be a certified Plastic Negative Workplace by rePurpose Global, joining more than 250 companies positively impacting the lives of 10,000+ waste workers and their families.
Industry Benefit
Our work with the Impact Relations Institute brought together hundreds of purpose-driven communicators to hear from thought leaders on how brands can meaningfully contribute when communicating on topics including reproductive justice, DEI programs, and natural disasters.
