NEU LEOPOLDAU Leopoldau Vienna, Austria 2-phase property developer competition, 1st prize professional | October 2015-march 2016 The concept of all area was dedicated to build up a “Smart environment for young and young-at-heart home living on the outskirts of the city in a post-industrial complex. Strategies for creating community: this starts with identification through the design and continues with the quarter’s connecting ring structure and the belt formed by the wall surrounding the property, with special communication areas reflecting the layering principle of the building”. My task was to make a proposal (sketches) for the concept of an existing wall in the Leopoldau project. Make a playful and interactive construct, that consist of various elements, which will transform the idea of a “wall as boundary” to the “wall- as an identity, wall as interaction, wall- as invitation”.

5

The house. Going closer from “the ring” and “the wall” to the house. The concept of the house implies an onion structure: which allows making one time of each apartment semi-private, so one can make anything he wants from it. It could be open for the public (tattoo salon, artists studio, fixing bikes) or extended part of the kitchen, bathroom (etc.) which creates the friendly environment. My tack at this stage was to design several variations of these rooms. the library

6

The project divided at three parts: the ring (strategic design for the whole Gaswerk area), the wall ( the proposal to keep the existing wall and make it playful and interactive), the house ( the proposal for designing the house with community friendly environment). My task at the “wall stage was to make a proposal for designing the wall elements, in order to make the wall not as a barrier, but an invitation to use it.

SCHWEDENPLATZ Rethinking the Schwedenlatz Vienna, Austria Professional | October 2015-March 2016

The redevelopment of Schwedenplatz – clearly one of Vienna’s most important urban nodes – aims at creating a new zoning by determining five defined segments. Emerging from the adjacent urban context, these areas emphasize the predominant local qualities. A distinctive arrangement of tree rows as well as green recreational islands are tying together the square’s five areas while creating a clear zoning and orientation. Each of the segments has a thematic pavilion. The use of the five pavilions varies from segment to segment – they serve as meeting places, allow expansive views, integrate infrastructure or offer niches for insects and birds. These pavilions become the new landmarks of the Schwedenplatz.

8

The Schwedenplatz is one of the most known squares in Vienna. It is located just near the Danube canal in middle of two districts that were connected with the oldest bridges in Vienna. The total area of square equals 2,5 ha, with a length of almost 400 m. Due to the intensive possibility, the area have to deal with serving different needs of all its users. However, the square was not programmed for that purposes before, so it slightly dealing with these challenges. As a part of working group (4 people + partners 2 people), I took a part in a site analysis, design of the pavilions, making schemes (3d modeling, hand drawing) and booklet for university interim report.

We proposed the following stragey: (1) organizing the square, (removing the unnecessary objects, and so to prepare it for the further reorganization), (2) visually attached all three divided parts (using bright pavement), (3) emphasize the existing elements and create thematic sequences (4) design module pavilions on each square segments. I was intensively involved in last stage, where we were working under designing each square for square segments. The main idea was to make it possible to perceive the square as horizontally as vertically, by using the pavilions.

Dreieich, Germany Academic | Group (4 members) | 2015 Bauhaus summary 2015 Dipl.-Ing. Architekt Kristina Hoffmann, Antonia Herten M.Sc. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Nentwig Make a market analysis; develop a concept for the area considering the real land- use regulations, and possibilities of usage. Our team made a macro and a side analysis, checked the investment climate, had a consultation with the land developers and interviewed several people from the Administration, site developer, investor. The aim was to design the structure, where at least three scenarios of possible usage (from public city usage- to private/ commercial) will be possible.

BRIEF ANALYSIS

Location scheme

Deieich is a town in the Offenbach district in Germany. It is located roughly 10 km south of downtown Frankfurt am Main. The city is well connected with Frankfurt by public transportation, S-bahn and high way. Every 15 minutes there is a train goes to Frankfurt. In addition, 3 federal roads are connected with Driesch (3, 46, 486) + Motorway ( 3-10 km) A3, A5, A661. In the city the main street Frankfurtstrasse has absolutely mixed used urban image: housing combined with shops and cafes. Commercial area concentrates in one northeast side of the city. The given site is located in a commercial area. It is visually separated from the city by 4-lines roads and it seems pedestrian unfriendly; There are 3 traffic lights (one should wait at least for 5 minutes to cross in particular direction);

PROPOSAL

The idea was to attract companies, startups as well as the employees from the surroundings. The master plan proposed the design of the whole area which includes working, open, leisure and semi- space for different needs. The flows of the people organized in that way, so the center part (the steel framework with small units) expected to be dense enough almost every time of the day, because it includes a number of cafes, restaurants and residential functions. As the first phase we decided to work with the big scale units, which are suitable for startups and various offices. It was chosen to work with the steel framework. The steel construction used as a frame, which can be filled by timber constructions and panels. The height of the box is 7 meters, so it allows making double stage within the one unit, if there is need for this. If one or another company leaving the unit, the other can rent it and easily change the space configuration. For the companies, who prefer to work in more or less isolated conditions there are venetian blinds can be adjusted with different angels.

ThomasEck is a former industrial area that consists of unused train repair workshop buildings. It has a big potential in terms of strategic location inputs and investment climate in the Erfurt city. Our team decided to develop this area considering the local needs and potential. The results of analysis revealed that concentration of students in Erfurt is growing. In addition, the number of events as well as diversity of shops attracts many people from nearby cities.

PROPOSAL It was decided to program the site according to the need of newcomers and talented students. For many people Erfurt is a concentration of bug brands shops. For instance, IKEA is one of the reason, why many students are coming from Weimar, Jena and other cities to buy necessary stuff for house. However, one should take a train firstly, that goes to the Erfurt airport and then take a bus (that comes once in one hour) before he gets he gets to IKEA. Therefore, we were thinking that ThomasEck due to its location and sizes could be a great platform, serving with furniture, and other items, for arranging the house. The students from Bauhaus school and Erfurt University has faculties of product design, architecture and graphic design, so they can produce this goods and sell them directly on the ThomasEck site. In order to make the site function 24/7 we decided to use the car parking, as a night open car cinema. Thus, during the day, the parking serves to the factory users and during the night it keeps entertain them. In order to attract people to the site it was suggested to put the sculpture of pink lady that would be visible from the train station. The screen under the lady’s skirt projects various multimedia animation, so to interact people and create a spot of gathering for festivals or other events.

THE GRAPHIC MUSEUM

Kazan city (Tatarstan, Russia) the crossroad of Galaktionov and Gorky streets. Academical | individual | 2011 Supervisor: Iskandarov M.M.

The student project, where I was working on understanding of the area context and implementation of modern form into it.

18 third floor

Used as the exhibition space and by using elevator the visitor might get to the roof stage.

second floor

The second floor have the lecture hall and two levels of what I called “meeting room”. The adventures of meeting room are: it can be used as for workshops as can be rented like a workspace for students, freelancers, bureaus).

first floor

First floor provides artist two areas of organizing exhibition: inside and outside the building. The second one also has the advantages, so some exponents might be seen from the streets thereby attract visitors.

ground floor

The space of the first floor is designed to provide different scenarios of acting and moving. So firstly, after passing cases, visitor gets into a large hall with the letter g in the center. There are several options follows after: Option one is to leave things in the locker room and start up the stairs/ elevator directly to the expositions or lecture hall. Or (option two) pass along the wall “quiet place” and go to the quiet courtyard of the museum, fenced from the street by trees.

MULTIMEDIAN LIBRARY

The crossroad of Nekrasov st. and Pushkin st., Kazan city Bachelor diploma (BA) | individual | 2012 Supervisor: Iskandarov M.M. The task was to design a project of intellectual and historical significance. The analysis of the area showed that the location was very important for the Tatar heritage. The old Tatar houses used to stay there and the street was full of life and cultural events. However, within a time, the houses were destroyed, and the street loses its potential as well as historical meaning. After analyzing the archives, it was decided to create a public library the shape of which will be referred to origin of the site. Therefore, the ornaments, materials and positions of windows were arranged accordingly to that purpose.

ARCHEOLOGIST’S COLLECTION Exhibition “archeologist’s collection” Cinema Theater “Udarnic”, Moscow, Russia Exhibition | realize | professional | group (2 people) | 2013 Bernaskoni bureau The task was to design and implement the concept of space arrangement for the exhibition of Grigory Bruskin. For the period of exhibition “Archeologist collection”, the theater “Udarnic” became a “platform of archeological excavations”. Instead of ranks with chairs in former big cinema hall, it was decided to create a platform that would imitate the real archeological excavations. The dark space with a platform of metallic lists that stayed in the middle of the hall, where 33 sculptures are laying in the soil.

http://bernaskoni.com/projects/bruskin/

24

The sculptures were created by Grigory Bruskin years ago in a foundry workshop Salvadori Artein, Pistoya (Tuscany, Italy). They have a special history. After creation the sculptures were placed deep into the ground for a period of three years. In 2009 they were dug up. After laying in soil, they covered by a natural patina. The project shows transformation of bronze sculpture into pseudo artifacts of the Soviet Era. They perceived as Ancient items from the empire of the past.

BUBBLEMANIA CAFE

Baumana 24, Kazan city, Russia Interior and facade design | realization | professional | 2014

It is a family project. We were working and discussing every detail within a close circle. We overlooked the most popular cafes and analyzed how people use space: where they prefer to seat, how long to they to stay on one or another position, which chairs are the most relevant etc. We found out that in many cafes people love to sit close to windows (to see what is going out outside). However, seating in one position is always monotonous. That is why we suggested an alternative way of use the spaces near windows, providing spots for laying, seating, staying and doing any acrobatics, they would like to do. All furniture, and lightings we did within by ourselves and help of our friends.

26

I was influenced by the SEGA cassette, which has a fancy geometrical pattern on it. So, I decided to make the structure of the sealing and lighting open for visitors. And also It was found very interesting for people to follow the leads directions.

NOTHINGS, THE GAME

Group work. In process. Training the skills in the Processing programing + frame animation. “Nothings” is a simple group game. To play it you need a surface ( to project the animation), projector, “character buttons” and friends. At the very beginning one can see 4 different characters. In order to start the game, you just have to follow the visual instructions, which firstly starts with , “come here. now” or “alright, guys, come here”, and than press any character button. Since the character appear and you make them move the main idea is to ”catch” the thing (by pressing the button of your character), when the circle appears on it. The character is “catched”, when player press his character button on time. Every time, when the character has been selected correctly, the new level of the game starts. If someone missed the circle, all characters disappears, and the game starts from the very beginning. Challenges: The number of “things” increases within new levels, therefore it is hard to pay attention to your thing, when there are 20 (and more) of them running.

NOthings (but actually, there are 4 things)

JAZZ JAMS

Posters Kazan city, Russia August 2016

Every Thursday the Bar Sol’ organizes Jazz Jam events. It is a cozy Bar in the center of the city, which fills with a warm atmosphere there. Friendly and sometimes crazy. People are coming there to express themselves in any possible musical way. The mixture of professional musicians and amateurs, the classical Jazz standards and the modern reflection creates a great combination and unique atmosphere. Therefore, the idea was to create a number of posters for August events that would combine both: straightness (through centric composition) and craziness (through symbols, colors, forms).
