I am a ball of dough.

We are all born pieces of dough.

Made from flour, water, yeast, oil, and a little bit of salt and sugar.

Mixed and kneaded and rolled with love.

Then the baker gently places us on a wooden board and in the oven we go!

We all become different WARM MANAKISH!

I am a zaatar mankoushe now,

and I’m friends with all the manakish.

When I see my friend the cheese mankoushe, I ask politely for a cheesy hug.

And if they agree, we do a cocktail dance!

We sit on the shelf in the bakery singing songs,

waiting to be picked by a special someone.

We are all loved the same!
