Majd and Ward are sitting on the rooftop eating ice cream and sweating. Uncle Amer passes by and notices how hot they feel under the glaring sun.

“If you sit here with all this heat, you’ll get sick.”

“That’s why we got ice cream!”

“But we love sitting here... it’s calm and open!”

“At least we have our caps!”

“I wish we had a garden to play in, instead of roads and houses.”

“Me too! Can we plant a tree here for shade, uncle Amer?”

“Well, it’s a great idea for some shade, but a tree might be too heavy for the roof..”

“Like what?”

“We can do the next best thing!”

“Perhaps a vine?!”

“I have always wanted to have lunch with all my friends here on the rooftop!”

“Great idea, Ward!”

“Can we plant other stuff too?”

“Yes! Absolutely!”

They toured the neighborhood and asked for help from all their friends...

Majd and Ward fill the buckets and bottles with soil and plant flowers, tomatoes, a vine and some fresh seeds.

Amer and the other adults help them transport the material.

The roof is now a lush green garden, where everyone can meet to enjoy the sun and the green spaces.
