A Blue Tree?
T
he community of Delamere and Cape Jervis got together and painted a tree with blue paint. It’s on Cole Road at Delamere and on the property owned by the generous Hodge family. Why a Blue Tree? The Blue Tree project was initiated to help spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when battling mental health concerns. By spreading the paint and spreading the message that "it's OK to not be OK", we can help break down the stigma that's still largely attached to mental health. Our resident Mayor of Delamere Kaye Maslin ran with the project and was supported by local CFS crews. the past weeks, as well as sorting through donated stock. Many thanks to everyone who has helped out with all the tasks mentioned above. Your time and hard work are very much appreciated! At time of printing deadline, we are hoping to re-open the Op Shop for the last two weeks of May. Subject to Government directives, we also hope to resume some of our regular weekly activities at the Club. These may include Tai Chi, line dancing, quilting, Bingo and mosaics. There would be a maximum attendance of ten people and social distancing measures in place. Please phone the Club before attending, as plans can change very quickly at the moment. At present it is not known when meals and happy hours will resume, but we will keep you posted! Until we can all catch up again, stay safe and well.
