About Youth Theatre of the Bluegrass YOUTH THEATRE of the BLUEGRASS (YToB) was born from Project Encore, a performing arts workshop for youth ages 8-14 founded by Alyssa Shelton Curry. From 2005 to 2014, workshops were held in various schools throughout Scott County (KY) offering Broadway themed classes under the Project Encore banner through the YMCA with much success. In June 2015, YOUTH THEATRE OF THE BLUEGRASS became a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and maintains the Project Encore name for summer camps and workshops.

Because YToB does not own facilities for classes or productions, the organization works through the local community, utilizing classrooms and stages in various locations including churches and other community facilities.

YOUTH THEATRE of the BLUEGRASS is dedicated to developing character in the youth of Georgetown, KY and surrounding areas through training in the performing arts by offering professional instruction and family entertainment, all in a safe, inclusive environment.

Cast Bios Zoey Allen (Munchkin) Zoey’s recent credits include Dear Edwina (Frank's Ma, Napkins, Hola Lola). Education/training: Performing Arts Club (PAC) at Creekside Elementary, ballet and modern lyrical dance at United Talent. “I am becoming more comfortable with my inner silliness on stage,” Zoey writes. She wishes to thank her family for their encouragement and Mrs. Curry for making acting fun.

Abigail Beisel (Emerald City Chorus) will be 12 years old in August and is attending Scott County Middle School, where she will be in 7th grade this year. She has previously played Yellow Crayon in Meet the Crayons, Ginny Weasley in The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and Sir Percival in The Knights of the Kitchen Table with Lexington Children’s Theater. She has played Jetsam in United Talent’s production of The Little Mermaid. She has also played Little Anna and a member of the Oakens family in Frozen Jr., and ensemble in YToB’s five-year anniversary showcase, This is Our Story. This is Abigail’s 3rd show with YToB, and she is very excited to be part of the production! Abigail would like to thank her family for all their help and support – especially her dogs, Liza and Mika!

Evan Bentley (Hunk/Scarecrow/Choreographer) is 23 years old. Evan has been performing on stage since the age of 9 when he appeared onstage in School House Rock (ensemble) directed by Alyssa Curry at Eastern Elementary. Evan attended the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts for Drama in 2016, where he gained more appreciation for all forms of art/arts education. Evan has been a local choreographer for theater groups in the area since 2015 (credits include SCHS’s Mamma Mia and YToB’s Freaky Friday). Evan would like to thank Alyssa Curry for the opportunity to continue exploring his own artistic endeavors as well as providing many more opportunities for other young artists to grow. Evan would also like to point out that without the support of his family and friends, he would not be where he is today.

Andrea H. Brown (Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch) feels honored to join the cast of YToB’s production of Wizard of Oz and thanks the production team for allowing her to hone her secret cackle. Andrea loves to make believe with fellow actors on stage to entertain others and to tell wonderful stories. She has appeared in other local theatre productions as Helen Armstrong in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical, as Ethel McCormack in Footloose: The Musical, and as Agatha in Guys and Dolls. She hopes to continue singing, acting, and dancing on stage as she participates in engaging storytelling with her husband and-she hopes one day--her daughters.

Alan V. Brown (Uncle Henry/Winkie leader/Understudy: Marvel/Oz) is excited to participate in his first production with Youth Theatre of the Bluegrass and has enjoyed getting to know new theatre friends. Though he pays the bills as a professor of Spanish at the University of Kentucky, his participation in local theatre has led him to herd Herdmans as Bob Bradley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical, thump his Bible as Reverend Shaw Moore in Footloose: The Musical, track current events in Grover’s Corners as Editor Webb in Our Town, and bang his mission drum as Arvide Abernathy in Guys and Dolls. He dedicates his performance in this production to his late son, Ashton Brown, who – though not willing to act on stage himself – was always willing to support Mom and Dad. Thanks, Ashton!

Aubrey Case (Munchkin) Aubrey’s recent credits include Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and Alice in Wonderland (all ballets with United Talent). Aubrey is entering 7th grade at Scott County Middle School, where she received an all-A honor roll award for her 6th grade year. Aubrey loves dance, performing, drawing, and anime art. Her best friend is her chinchilla named Fred.

Aubrey would like to thank her dad for encouraging her to audition with YToB and Mr. Tony for always having a smile.

Elizabeth Castillo (Munchkin) is enjoying YToB’s The Wizard of Oz! She is currently playing the role of a munchkin. Elizabeth’s only other experience with acting has been in The Lion King Jr. with Wester Elementary. She also is part of the chorus there.

Brooklyn Caudill (Lullabye League) is very excited to be a part of The Wizard of Oz. She is a part of the Performing Arts Club at Creekside Elementary. She has performed in The Little Mermaid, Dear Edwina, and Heroes and Villains. When she is not in school, she is working on her dancing skills at Rising Stars Dance Studio. She wants to thank her Mom and Dad for their love and support.

Marlie Conley (Munchkin) Marlie is very excited to be participating in her third production of The Wizard of Oz. She previously participated in United Talent's 2020 Summer Camp Production of The Wizard of Oz as the Mayor of Munchkin City, an Ozian, and a flying monkey. In May, 2022, Marlie played Ogma of Oz in Stamping Ground Elementary's production of the same title.

She has also performed as a narrator in SGE's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!, and has participated in several other drama camp productions in Georgetown, Frankfort, and Lexington. Marlie enjoys reading, rollerskating, rollerblading, riding her bicycle, playing with her animals, and spending time with her family. Marlie would like to thank SGE's Drama coach, Mrs. Atwood, and her mom and dad for helping her get to where she is as an aspiring actor.

Anna Coover (Barrister/Jitterbug) is very excited to join the cast of The Wizard of Oz in her first YToB musical. Anna will be a 5th grader at Western Elementary and loves her family, pets, friends, nature, and all animals on the planet. When she is not entertaining others, she can usually be found gaming, crafting, or spending time with her dog, Tucker. Anna wants to thank her parents and grandparents for supporting her and all her craziness.

Finnley Corbett (Emerald City Chorus) is thrilled to be in YToB's The Wizard of Oz. She has also performed as "Molly" in Annie with Eastern Elementary PAC and most recently was a part of Pirates Past Noon. She enjoys performing in plays, reading and caring for animals.

Asa Chadwick Emmons (Tough Guy/Munchkin) is a rising 5th grader at Creekside Elementary. He has studied hip hop dance at the Lexington Dance Factory for the past four years. Past performances include Once on a Housetop and Dear Edwina, (Scott and William) at Creekside Elementary. Asa thanks Bruster's/Nathan's for sponsoring and says, “Thank you to my mom and Nana and family for their ongoing love and support!” ❤

Branson Fairbanks (Tough Guy/Munchkin) is excited to be in The Wizard of Oz as a tough guy. This is his second experience in the musical world. He just finished being a part of Dear Edwina Jr. He loves being in this show with his dad, the Tin Man. In his spare time, Branson loves to play baseball and jump on the trampoline, along with many hours of playing Roblox. He wants to thank Mrs. Curry for encouraging him to go through with being a tough guy. And of course he wants to thank mom and dad just because he loves them.

Bryan Fairbanks (Hickory/Tin Man/Musical Director) is excited to be back on stage and share his first performing role with YToB as the Tin Man. He serves as a board member of YToB and has been the musical director for many of their shows, including Seussical, Freaky Friday and The Wizard of Oz, but has never been on the other side of the curtain. He grew up loving the performing arts, and was a member of the Colorado Academy of the Arts from ages 8-19. He has had the opportunity to perform in many shows, including: Beauty and the Beast, I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Man of La Mancha, Guys and Dolls and Brigadoon. When he is not filling his schedule with Wizard of Oz rehearsals, or making his Tin Man costume with his wife, Bryan enjoys going to work as a Prosthetist where he makes and fits prosthetic arms and legs for his patients. He enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, camping, board games, shopping for tech gadgets, volunteering at church, and most importantly, spending time with his wife and four children.

He wants to thank his dear wife Eliza for all her support and for making him the man he is today! SHMILY! Kambria Fairbanks (Jitterbug/Emerald City Chorus/Understudy: Dorothy) is thrilled to once again be part of a YToB production. She has previously been in Into the Woods, Shrek Jr. the Musical, Frozen Jr the Musical and Freaky Friday. It has been fun this year to share the stage with both her younger brother and her dad. Kambria enjoys spending time with her friends and playing volleyball. She will be a Junior at Scott County High School and wants to be a nurse when she graduates. She would like to thank her family for all their support and to her Grandma and Grandpa for traveling across the country for every YToB production she has been in.

Madeline (Maddie) Goins (Swing/Emerald City Chorus/Winkie Guard/Assistant Stage Manager), 15, is taking to the stage in a YToB performance for the first time as a swing for Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow and as an Emerald City Cheerleader and Winkie Guard in the Wizard of Oz. She has been part of the crew for several recent shows, including Frozen, Freaky Friday, Beauty and the Beast, and All Together Now. She also serves as the Assistant Stage Manager for this show. Her previous onstage performances include Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins, Shrek, and Seussical. “My education and training have entirely been from hands-on experience,” Maddie says. “Shoutout to my family!” In addition to theatre, Maddie is a volunteer member of Scott County Teen Court, a student in the Law and Justice Village at Elkhorn Crossing School, plays flute in the Great Crossing High School marching band and will be joining the chorus at GCHS this fall.

Beth Goins (Emerald City Chorus/Swing) returns to the stage after a long hiatus, having performed in a number of productions as a child, teen, and young adult. Her first role and the beginning of her love of musical performance was as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. Since then, she has performed in numerous productions, choral ensembles, and tours. She continues to sing in churches in the region. Beth thanks her family (especially Mike, Meghan, Maddie and McKenna) and friends. Special thanks to Alyssa Curry, who put her back onstage to rekindle her love of musical theatre performance after so many years. Beth is a member of the YToB board and is a marketing communications director at the University of Kentucky College of Education. In her “spare” time, Beth enjoys capturing life through the lens as a photographer.

Sadie Heim (Munchkin) is so excited for her acting debut as a Munchkin in YToB’s The Wizard of Oz! Sadie is a rising 4th grader at St. John School in Georgetown. Her hobbies include dancing, swimming, reading, and Girl Scouts. Sadie wants to thank her family and friends for all of their support!

Tanner Hord (Emerald City Guard/Winkie Guard/ Swing) is excited to be performing again in YToBs production of the Wizard of Oz. Tanner is a 2021 graduate of Great Crossing High School. His past roles include playing Beast in GCHS’s inaugural musical production, Beauty and the Beast. He was also a cast member in the first GCHS play, Humbug High.

Prior to attending GCHS, Tanner attended SCHS and appeared in the Cardinal Players productions of Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Tanner has also appeared as an ensemble member in YToB productions of Seussical, Frozen Jr., and Freaky Friday. Tanner is grateful to his parents, his family, and past music and drama teachers to have encouraged, taught, and supported him along the way.

Courtney Jo Howard (Emerald City Chorus/Jitterbug/Winkie Guard) is nineteen years old, and is from Georgetown, Kentucky. Courtney is an upcoming freshman at Georgetown College, where she hopes to get a bachelors degree in theatre and film studies, with a minor in philosophy. Courtney grew up doing church plays and musicals, and she has been an avid supporter of the arts for years. This is Courtney's first theatre production, and she’s so grateful that it is with YToB. Courtney would like to thank her dad, brother, sister, best friends, and her Grandma Betty, who is watching from heaven.

She would also like to thank Alyssa Curry, her director, for being an amazing leader and teacher.

Betsy Hurst (Munchkin/Winged Monkey) The Wizard of Oz will mark Betsy's first theater production. After recently completing her first year with United Talent’s cheer team, she is eager to expand her talents with YTOB. Off-stage, she loves all animals, tumbling, gardening, and experimenting with tools and crafts. This fun-loving, inquisitive 8-year-old will be in the 3rd grade this fall.

Amelia Hurst (Emerald City Chorus) Amelia is excited to be working with YTOB again, having previously performed in YToB’s Frozen Jr. (Young Elsa), This is Our Story, and Project Encore. Recent local credits include The Little Mermaid Jr. (Ursula) and All Together Now (ensemble) at United Talent, as well as Mrs. Bradley in her school’s production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. In addition to theater, she enjoys reading, drawing, swimming, baking, & learning the guita-lele.

Adeleine Johnson (Jitterbug/Emerald City Chorus) is a sophomore at Great Crossing. She’s been in such shows as Guys and Dolls as Adelaide and Mary Poppins as chimney sweep #2. She likes art and performing and is looking to study performing and visual arts after high school.

Izzie Lambros (Emerald City Chorus/Winkie Guard) is entering her sophomore year at Georgetown College. She is a theatre and film studies major and a music minor. Izzie is the president of the college's drama group, the Maskrafters. The Wizard of Oz is Izzie’s third musical and her first show with YToB. She has also done three short films and two plays.

Sophia Lynn (Emerald City Chorus) enjoys reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Wings of Fire, and Guardians of Gahoole. Lynn received first place in her school’s Academic Teams in Social Studies in the District Governor’s Cup. When needed Sophia babysits on the side. She has performed as Mrs. Hannigan in Annie Jr. at Eastern Elementary and performed in YToB's This Is Our Story last summer.

Lily Mallory (Emerald City Chorus) is very excited to take the stage in the Wizard of Oz for her second acting role.

In May, Lily had her acting debut in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with First United Methodist Church Downtown as part of the Royal Spring 6th Grade Choir. She loves being a 7th grader at Royal Spring Middle School. When she’s not in school, Lily enjoys hanging out with her friends, singing, and playing her musical instruments. She wants to thank her Mom and Dad for always being there and supporting her in all of her activities.

Alyssa Marmino (Crow/Emerald City Chorus) is excited for her roles in YToB's production of The Wizard of Oz. Recently, she performed in This Is Our Story, a celebration of YToB’s 5th anniversary. Her all-time favorite role was playing the Cat with Creekside Performing Arts Club in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She is a 6th grader at Scott County Middle School, and for fun she likes to paint and play soccer. She would like to thank Evan for his choreography skills and sense of humor. She would also like to thank her family and Mrs. Curry for their support.

Angelina Marmino (Apple Tree/Emerald City Chorus) is excited for another opportunity to be a part of Youth Theatre of the Bluegrass, performing in The Wizard of Oz. Recently, she helped celebrate YToB's 5th anniversary in This Is Our Story. Her favorite role was playing Gladys Gutzman in Junie B. Jones with Eastern's Performing Arts Club. She is a 9th grader at Scott County High School and loves to draw and listen to music in her free time. She would like to thank her family and YToB for their continued support through the years.

Michelle Marmino (Emerald City Chorus/Understudy: Aunt Em/Glinda) is thrilled to be working with YToB again in this summer's production of The Wizard of Oz. In the past, she was Mrs. Time in Freaky Friday and helped behindthe-scenes as stage manager. Michelle is an elementary special education assistant and a member of the worship team at Victory Life Church. She loves to sing karaoke, bake, and spend time with her family. She wants to thank her husband, Adam, and two girls, Angelina and Alyssa, for their support always.

Sylar McDermott (Coroner/Nikko) returns to the stage after recently playing a giraffe in the Georgetown Middle School production of Lion King Jr. Sylar previously attended Western Elementary School. Sylar is outgoing and likes to play and practice new tricks on the trampoline, basketball, karaoke, and dancing. He also enjoys dressing up and creating masterpieces with makeup. He dreams of being a cosmetologist when he grows up. Sylar thanks Ms. Wright, who helped me realize that he loves to sing; Ms. Stomberg, who helped him realize he loves to draw; Ms. Changsan, his favorite teacher; and his parents, who take good care of him.

Connor Nelson (Emerald City Chorus/Winkie Guard) is very excited to be a part of The Wizard of Oz with YToB! Previously, he has worked with YToB in Super Happy Awesome News as the sportscaster and chef! He also has previously preformed in the drama club at Creekside Elementary and was very excited to perform as the Grinch in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Connor enjoys bring on the football team at RSMS, canvas painting and working with clay. He would like to thank his family for all their support.

Alice Newton (Munchkin) is very excited to make her acting debut in YToB’s production of The Wizard of Oz! She is preparing to begin 3rd grade in Scott County. When Alice is not in school, she enjoys playing with her friends, dancing and creating art at home.

Lizzie Royce (Aunt Em) is very happy to be acting with YToB for the first time. A favorite show from the past was Stop Kiss at the Studio Players in Lexington. Lizzie studied acting at Syracuse University and with Uta Hagen in NYC.

Landen Noe (Mayor/Doorman/Swing) As Mayor of the Munchkin City, in the county of the Land of Oz, Landen welcomes you most regally to YToB’s production of The Wizard of Oz! You will also find him as the “charming” doorman to the gates of Emerald City! Landen has enjoyed many years with YToB. Previous roles include Oaken Family’s favorite redhead and townsperson in Frozen Jr., Fletcher in Freaky Friday, Parker in Super Happy Awesome News, and YToB’s showcase This is Our Story. When not playing YToB’s favorite little brother role, he plays favorite brother to two awesome sisters at home. He is excited to have them both join him on the stage this year in The Wizard of Oz! Landen will be going into 8th grade as a homeschooler and spends his extra time catching Pokemon, reading fantasy series and building cities in Minecraft. He also enjoys soccer, lacrosse and Marvel movies. He would like to thank all of his friends and mentors from YToB, as well as his incredible family.

Joselyn Noe (Jitterbug/Emerald City Chorus) Although The Wizard of Oz is Joselyn’s first time in a theatre production, she is no stranger to the stage. She has danced since she was 2 years old and has participated in numerous productions with Lexington Ballet Company including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, Snow White and The Nutcracker (various roles). She has also been in numerous Ballet Under the Stars pre-show productions with Lexington Parks and Rec over the years. Joselyn is excited to start her high school freshman year this fall as a homeschooler! Aside from dancing, Joselyn loves animals, plants, photography, lacrosse and is working on starting her own skin care company. She would love to give a huge shout out to her pet fancy rats Atticus, Fritz, Kevin and Vex, her dog Buddy and all of her supportive friends and family ❤ Lyla Noe (Lullaby League/Winged Monkey) is a homeschooled 5th grader and this is her second show with YToB. In 2021, she had the unique experience of participating in the virtual production Super Happy Awesome News as Tanner and a community reporter. She is thrilled to be a member of the Lullaby League and a winged monkey in The Wizard of Oz this year. She has also had many years of experience on the stage as a dancer with Lexington Ballet Company, and has participated in Snow White, Cinderella and The Nutcracker. She has participated in the Lexington Parks and Rec Ballet Under the Stars pre-shows as well. Lyla has a heart of gold and loves dancing, gymnastics, cooking, hiking, singing and playing the ukulele. She would like to thank Mrs. Curry for helping with her acting skills, and apologies to Evan Bentley (the scarecrow) for tearing him to pieces on the stage.

Lily Pearl (Lullaby League/Winged Monkey) can’t wait to be on stage again in another YTOB production! She recently starred in Mary Poppins Jr. as the lead role of Mary Poppins with Eastern Elementary Performing Arts Club. Also with Eastern’s PAC she performed Jingle Bell Jukebox as the main role of Ruby. Her last performance with YToB was Super Happy Awesome News as the Weather Reporter, Blair and Sage. One of her most favorite YTOB productions was when she got to be a troll and snowman in Frozen Jr.! Lily has attended numerous Project Encore camps where she has had the opportunity to study improv, dance, voice, prop and play productions. When Lily is not on stage she enjoys competitive cheerleading with HCA GEMS and gymnastics. She’d like to thank her parents, grandparents, friends, and the many business sponsors that supported her in this play! She loves each and everyone one of you.

Susie Pearl (Oz Woman/Emerald City Chorus/Swing) This is Susie’s first opportunity to be in a YToB production and she is ecstatic for the opportunity! Susie has had a passion for the arts since a young child and performed in numerous school and church productions. In the past, she had the opportunity to direct Russell Cave Baptist’s children’s choir, as well as assisting in play production. She was Jr. Miss Lexington and Jr. Miss Ky Runner-Up in 2003 where her talent was in monologue performance. When Susie’s not on stage, she enjoys playing her violin, singing worship music, and spending time with her family. Susie would like to thank her husband, Ryan, for encouraging her in this endeavor and her family and friends for being so supportive during the practices and now performances.

Lauren Russell (Jitterbug/Emerald City Chorus/Swing) just graduated from Great Crossing High School, and has been dancing for 7 years. Since 2014, she has participated in 8 ballets: Clara’s Dream, Snow White, The Little Prince, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Nutcracker, and Alice in Wonderland. Lauren also has been in 4 musicals: Mamma Mia!, Freaky Friday, Beauty and the Beast, and All Together Now, and 1 play: The Bold the Young and the Murdered. In the fall, she will be attending the University of Kentucky, where she will major in chemical engineering, and minor in environmental and sustainability studies.

Brett Shaw (City Father #2/Emerald City Chorus/Winkie Guard/Swing) is really excited for his debut with YToB and The Wizard of Oz production. He was most recently on stage with Georgetown Middle School as Young Simba in the Lion King Jr. and “Earthworm'' in James and the Giant Peach. Brett is in the Gifted and Talented program through SCS for drama and has studied drama with Fayette Co. Public Schools. When he is not on stage, Brett is generally entertaining his friends and family with his theatrical personality. He would like to thank Ms. (Christine) Holajter for casting him in his first production and helping him with his success.

Molly Dunn (Munchkin/Winged Monkey) is excited to perform in her first full-length production, The Wizard of Oz. She has been watching her sister on stage for several years and been eagerly awaiting her chance to audition. She has taken acting, gymnastics and dance classes in preparation for this show. She would like to thank her sister for coaching her and her neighbor, Ms. Curry for encouraging her to try out!

Kenleigh Skinner (City Father #1) is a student at Creekside Elementary and loves sports and performing. Kenleigh splits her time between the field and the stage, playing softball for the Scott County Softball Club and the Scott County Supersonics, and participating in the Performing Arts Club at Creekside Elementary and YToB. She also has three years of dance experience in tap, ballet, jazz and acro. Kenleigh has been in numerous programs with her church and school. She most recently starred in Dear Edwina Jr. in the roles of Fairy Forkmother and Mary Sue Betty Bob Spoonapple. This is Kenleigh's 2nd YToB performance and she's excited to be in a show she loves so much.

Kensie Skinner (Jitterbug/Emerald City Chorus) is a student at Scott County High School and has a passion for music and drama, performing in over 12 productions both in her church and community. She most recently starred in Puffs, with the Cardinal Players. She also has a love for dance with eight years of experience in jazz, tap and ballet. She is currently enjoying the music department at Scott County High School, participating in choir, Ladies Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and Wind Ensemble, playing both the alto and tenor saxophone. This is Kensie's second YToB performance. She is excited about being a part of this familiar classic and is thankful to all her family and friends that support her love for the stage!

Sammie Smedley (Munchkin #2, Pinkle Winkle) has no previous experience with drama, but she plans to learn from the best at YToB. Sammie would like to thank her Mommy for taking her to performances and encouraging her to give this a try.

Sarah Smedley (Emerald City Chorus) Sarah’s credits include Alice and Wonderland (Daisy), Junie B. Jones (Grace), Frozen Jr. (Troll), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Granny), Seussical (Who), and YToB’s This Is Our Story. Sarah’s education includes Gifted and Talented Drama, All State Chorus, Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA), Performing Arts Club at Eastern Elementary School, and Drama Club at Royal Spring Middle School. Sarah thanks her dad for encouraging her artistic abilities and Mrs. Curry for offering our community such great opportunities with YToB. Donovan Smith (Lion) is currently participating in the Youth Theatre of The Bluegrass production of The Wizard of Oz. Other shows he’s participated in recently are One Smart Pig, directed by Carly Preston and Tammy: A Coming of Age Story About a Girl Who Is Part T-Rex, directed by Ed Smith. Donovan is attending Georgetown College, where he is currently pursuing a degree in theatre and film. Donovan would like to thank not only his friends and family for coming to see the show, but also the crew and cast mates for being so supportive and great at what they do.

Shaylynn Souders (Apple Tree/Emerald City Chorus/Understudy: Dorothy) makes her stage debut in The Wizard of Oz. Shaylynn is a 7th grade student at Scott County Middle School. “Despite my lack of experience in professional theatre, I am ready to bring some sass to the stage and help make sure you enjoy this production." Shalynn thanks her mama and family for supporting her love of drama and YToB for providing this opportunity. She credits the show Hamilton with inspiring her theatre dreams.

Tim Stewart (Professor Marvel/Wizard) has been active in Georgetown's theatre scene for many years. He attended Georgetown College, where he performed in many theatre and choral productions. He was also active with Georgetown-Community Theatre for many years. Tim loves taking audiences on adventures to other places through the magic of theatre.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Megan Story (Emerald City Chorus) is 12 years old and not new to the stage. One of her favorite roles was as Tessie in Annie at United Talent. A few of other favorite credits are All Together Now, Frozen Jr., Shrek the Musical Jr., Little Mermaid Jr., and a prior production of The Wizard of Oz. Lizzie would like to thank her friends and family for encouraging her to keep pursuing musical theatre.

Reid Tackett (Tough Guy) is a 3rd grader at Creekside Elementary. This past year he sang a duet in his first musical, Journey Into Outer Space. He is excited to be in this production of The Wizard of Oz. When not singing and dancing, Reid also loves playing soccer, video games and enjoying the outdoors.

Macey Thompson (Munchkin) is very excited to make her theater debut in YToB’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Macey is a 4th grader at Western Elementary. She has previously performed in UFAA's productions of Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Hugo, and Alice in Wonderland. Besides theater Macey loves to take all kinds of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater and Hip hop. This fall she will be joining United Talents Performing Arts Company. Besides Dance and Theater Macey enjoys, softball, singing, Camping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Macey would like to thank her Mom and Dad for always being in her corner and loving and supporting her no matter what. But also for teaching her to always make God #1in her life.

Maddie Dunn (Apple Tree) is a 15-year-old student at Great Crossing High School and is happy to be taking part in her 5th show! “I definitely would not have made it this far without my wonderful family, Evan, and especially Mrs. Alyssa Curry,” Maddie writes.

Allie Viney (Glinda) has performed in Scott County High School’s productions of Little Women (Marmee) and Clue (Miss Scarlett). She has also performed in YToB’s Seussical (Bird Girl #2 / Swing Understudy) and Frozen (Oaken Family Member #3 /Swing Understudy). Allie is excited to return to performing and her YToB family after a year in college! She’d like to thank her family for their unending support, and the cast and crew of this show for making it a magical experience!

Sylas Warren (Jitterbug) is very excited to make her debut as a Jitterbug in The Wizard of Oz. She loves attending school at Western Elementary, where she is entering 5th grade. When she is not in school, Slyas can be found hanging out with her best friends or playing video games (especially Roblox). She wants to thank her Mom, Dad, and sisters for always showing her love and support. Sylas would also like to thank Anna, Elizabeth, and Sylar for being great friends and cast mates!

Abbie Weber (Crow/Emerald City Chorus) is an 8th grader at Scott County Middle School. She has previously performed in Willy Wonka Jr. (Oompa Loompa), Junie B Jones (classmate), and Annie Jr. (Pepper). Abbie has attended the Project Encore summer camp with YToB for two years. Abbie wants to thank her mom and her dad for helping her be able to do musicals over the years, and many more in the future. She also wants to thank Alyssa Curry for being the director for all the wonderful performances she has been in, and for being the best music teacher in the world! “Thank you for inspiring me, making me laugh, and just being you."

Elizabeth Williams (Winged Monkey) is ecstatic to be part of The Wizard of Oz. She was also a part of YToB’s Frozen Jr. in 2019 as summer chorus and the Oaken family. She will be a 7th grader at Scott County Middle School. When she's not in school, Elizabeth is on the SCMS cheerleading team, enjoys gymnastics, and is active in her youth group at Central Church. She wants to thank her family for always supporting her passions with fundraising, meals and rides to all of her rehearsals.

Audrey Yandell (Crow/Emerald City Chorus) is a freshman at Great Crossing High School and was recently accepted into Elkhorn Crossing School’s Media Arts village. Audrey has been featured in Frozen Jr., Super Happy Awesome News, and YToB’s 2021 5th Anniversary Showcase, This is Our Story. When Audrey is not participating in theatre productions with YToB, she is a member of Georgetown Scott County Sharks and a member of the Great Crossing High School band.

Audrey would like to thank YToB for their constant support. Audrey would also like to thank her family for always driving her to all her practices.

Aspen Day (Dorothy) is 19 years old and from Georgetown, Kentucky. A graduate of Scott County High School, Aspen is a full-time student at Georgetown College, hoping to achieve a degree in psychology and sociology in the spring of 2025.

Aspen has been involved with theater for many years, starting in church plays before getting involved with some middle and high school productions. Past shows include Scott County High School’s productions of Clue, Legally Blonde, and Little Women. Aspen also is involved in the Maskrafters and Chorale at Georgetown College. The Wizard of Oz is Aspen's first community production, and they are thrilled to have joined YToB this summer. They would like to thank their mom and close friends for being their biggest supporters, and always giving them the courage to be on stage and do what they love.

OZ FOR A CAUSE In Honor of Nikki Benton

Lauren Nicole "Nikki" Benton is a rising junior at Scott County High School and part of the YToB family. Some past YToB shows include Shrek, Frozen JR, Seussical and Freaky Friday. In November 2021, Nikki's world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Ever the sassy, feisty individual, Nik hasn't let cancer get her down! She is determined to get back on the stage. Help us celebrate Nikki by donating to Alex's Lemonade Stand to help fund research for Ewing Sarcoma and help other kids like Nikki!
