Robert Albritton, a Sarasota resident, has grown plants since the 1950s on his family’s property at Albritton Nursery. Before it became a nursery, it was a farm. But around the holidays, the location at 4151 Proctor Road takes on a cheery atmosphere with poinsettias seemingly everywhere. He started growing the holiday staple in 1986 and has become the go-to guy this time of year for organizations and individuals alike. “I do landscape design and I get 90% of my plants from there. He grows the nicest poinsettia you’ll find anywhere,” said customer Scott Cotgreave.
