Benjamin and Jonna Jones (above) welcomed their new child, Meadow, to the family in August.

It’s a baby record

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s labor and delivery team set a record of a happy sort recently, delivering 415 babies in the month of August. That record-breaking number surpasses the previous record of 402 births in August 2019, SMH spokesperson Allison Gottermeier said. The hospital celebrated with a Facebook post.

Temple Sinai staff and families turned out to Philippi Estate Park on Sept. 5 for a daylong fair and prayer event in celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The Sunday event had tents set up where children played a variety of games and enjoyed arts and crafts. Families had their faces painted and tried out different flavors of honey from Sarasota Honey Co. Beyond the festivities, Rabbi Samantha Kahn and Chazzan Cliff Abramson led a family service for the day as well.
