Two hot dogs Humane Society of Sarasota County volunteer Marta Shenker takes dogs aroud town through the Excursion Buddy program. This week, Shenker took two Chihuahuas, Aivery and Lainey, above, out for a girls’ day. “We take the dogs all around town for coffee or to the beach,” Shenker said. “This week we were having coffee at Starbucks with the dogs, and the owner of Paint Nail Bar noticed them.” Aivery and Lainey were treated to mani-pedis with hot pink polish.

Cutting Loose for Cut-A-Thon

Stylists at Cutting Loose Salon set up shop for a day in a suite at One Sarasota Tower, 2 N. Tamiami Trail. Stylists were on hand to give haircuts and collect monetary and hair donations for Wigs for Kids. The day ended with more than 20 haircuts and two hair donations. The Cutting Loose team raised $500, which will be and matched by Raymond James, bringing the total donation to $1,000.
