Special delivery
Thanksgiving can be a special time spent with loved ones, but actually planning it can be much more difficult. Tidewell Hospice recently worked to make Thanksgiving Day easier for its hospice and home health patients by preparing, organizing and delivering more than 400 meals Nov. 24. The aim was to provide Thanksgiving meals to patients and their families without any of the day-of stress in preparing it. The initiative — in partnership with Tidewell Foundation, Grove, Pier 22 and Morton’s Gourmet Market — had Tidewell Hospice staff and volunteers meeting at the administration building on Wednesday morning to organize the meals and deliver them to patients and their families. The foundation also received $25 donations to pick up food for families on the donors’ behalf.

HE’S BACK! Share with us!
Sarasotans do nothing halfway. Parades, Easter egg hunts, cool cars that end in vowels (we’re looking at you, Ferrari and Tesla owners). So as the holiday season gets closer and closer to the big day, we want to share your taste in decorating with your neighbors. The Observer will be on the lookout for homes and businesses decorated above and beyond for the holidays. And we’ll be especially attentive to anyone who can pull off the winter wonderland look captured in the above photo. Share with us what impresses you by emailing reporter Harry Sayer at HSayer@ YourObserver.com with your suggestions for possible publication in the Dec. 16 issue.
