Don’t judge a book by its cover Nikki Snyder, the owner of Shelf Indulgence Used Book Boutique located inside Paree Flea at 1853 Fruitville Road, wants to set up all her customers on a blind date — with a book, that is. Every week she wraps books in brown paper to add to her “blind date” book box. She said she hopes it will open readers up to new genres. “Everyone needs a little mystery in their lives now and again, even if it’s just in the form of a surprise paperback,” Snyder said.

Hershorin Schiff kicks off season of giving Hershorin Schiff Community Day School raised $1,370 for the Salvation Army this year. Students and teachers presented the check and decorated to spread Thanksgiving cheer Friday. Barbara O’Brien has coordinated the Salvation Army project for 14 years. “This project really seems to plant a seed for community service at a young age,” O’Brien said.
