Doves of Love on exhibit

Hundreds of paper doves line the walls and floors these days at Marie Selby Public Library. It’s all part of the “Doves of Love” exhibition put together by the CARES Outreach Services organization. Each dove pays tribute to a loved one lost to COVID-19 or HIV/AIDS. Family or friends write the names of someone lost on each dove. CARES Outreach Services Director Michael Kehoe had the idea from reading folklore where doves carry the souls of loved ones to heaven. “I thought that was a perfect vehicle,” Kehoe said. “It’s kind of like a release.”
