Reggae fever Mid-performance at the Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival Jan. 23, Jah Movement singer Shantel Norman spotted William Duggan, 5, in the crowd dancing with his mother, Erin Duggan, and invited him on stage to dance with the group. Without missing a beat, he joined the group center stage. Norman and Erin Duggan are also co-workers at Visit Sarasota County. “He has the biggest crush on Shantel,” Erin Duggan said. “He’s obsessed. She pulls him up on stage all the time, and he loves it. I think he’s getting a little to used it.”

early a year after the city backed out of plans to sell the land for development, a park at Beneva and Fruitville roads remains relatively unchanged. For the residents who pushed hardest to preserve Fruitville Road Park, it’s a bittersweet sight. They’re glad the 3.5-acre park isn’t being turned into a shopping center, but they also want it to be more than it is today.
