Here she is: a potential Mrs. America. After winning the Mrs. Florida title, Sarasota resident Rachael Neudecker will compete in the nationwide pageant.
Bird about town In the high grasses of Sarasota City Hall, a resident is known for his feathered ‘do and scrawny legs. The resident is not a city commissioner, but rather, an egret that has been lovingly dubbed Sid E. Hall by city staff. The last time Sid was spotted was near the statue “Nobody’s Listening,” by Senior Communications Manager Jan Thornburg. Thornburg describes herself as an amateur ornithologist. She first spotted Sid and named him after seeing him on the property for the last eight months. “Sid is easygoing,” Thornburg said. “I see him around, and he’s always on the hunt for food.”
