Gratitude is in the bag
Students at the Hershorin Schiff Community Day School wanted to recognize the work of medical professionals recently by making and delivering dozens of Healthcare Hero Bags. The students made the care bags for health care workers during their Panther Pride spirit day Feb. 11 as part of a community service project. Each bag included a bottle of water, a B12 Emergen-C pack, chocolates, mints, granola bars, a handwritten note of thanks from a student and more. Students and parents delivered the bags to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Rotary rewards spokeswoman
Sarasota Police Department Public Information Officer Genevieve Judge specializes in providing information from the police department to the community. Itâs a busy job, and she was recently recognized for her work by the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise. The club awarded Judge with a Pride of Workmanship award at a ceremony at the Der Dutchman restaurant Feb. 11. âSheâs 24/7 on calls,â club President Teresa Taft said. âThat morning that we gave her the award, she was woken up at 2 a.m. with a road closure. ⌠She had to get on Facebook [to] post to the community [what] was happening.â
