Temples welcome new leadership Two local temples installed new rabbis last week. Rabbi Michael Shefrin assumed his position as assistant rabbi at Temple Emanu-El, while Rabbi Michael Churgel was installed at Temple Sinai. Churgel’s childhood rabbi, Rabbi Stephen Einstein, officiated at the Temple Sinai ceremony. At Temple Emanu-El, Shefrin accepted his new position, saying, “I couldn’t imagine a better place than Temple EmanuEl to begin my career, serving such a vibrant and warm community.”
