Tops in their field

The founder of Michael Saunders & Co. is among 40 of the nation’s top female real estate executives, according to a consulting firm. Michael Saunders, also the CEO of the Sarasotabased real estate company, landed 18th in T3 Sixty’s annual Top 40 Women Executives List, a subset of the firm’s Power200 List for the entire industry. Saunders’ son and company President Dayton Saunders was ranked 90th on the overall list.

Day school breaks ground

It was a sunny day for new beginnings on Jan. 24, when Hershorin Schiff Community Day School staff and supporters celebrated the groundbreaking of its new campus. The “Beyond the Groundbreaking” event had an assembled crowd recognizing the school’s eventual move to its new 8.8-acre campus in central Sarasota, the former location of the Suncoast School for Innovative Studies and Temple Baptist Church. Guests heard from Head of School Dan Ceaser and fundraising campaign co-Chair Rachel Saltzberg (above) and enjoyed walking through the new grounds while seeing the construction underway.
