Colony Lender demands $5.1M David Siegal wrote in a letter that Colony owners have 20 days to pay unpaid real estate taxes and rent, but unit owners plan to fight before they open up their wallets.

Attorney David Siegal is seeking $5,116,664.24 within 20 days from owners at the 237-unit Colony Beach & Tennis Resort. If he doesn’t get it? “Then we’ll file 237 lawsuits in 20 days,” said Unicorp National Development Inc. Chuck Whit-

tall, who has an agreement to purchase Colony Lender’s resort assets. Siegal sent a demand letter to unit owners Friday, seeking $522,387.84 in unpaid real estate taxes and interest in addition to $4,594,276.40 in damages for

unpaid rent plus interest on a 99year recreational facilities lease for the period from Oct. 29, 2008 to the present. The final sentence of the letter states: “THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO COLLECT A DEBT. ANY INFOR-

+ Mazel tov to Klauber and Mancini The West Coast Florida Region of AJC (American Jewish Committee) will honor Michael Klauber and Phil Mancini, of Michael’s On East, with its Civic Achievement Award in November. The award celebrates their support of the community.
