Supervisors in CDD 4, who renewed an annual contract with Allegiance in December, are continuing their discussions with residents about what types of services they de-

• The chairman for both CDDs 2 and 5 were contacted by a Manatee County official and informed the county has

budgeted $160,000 toward the repaving of portions of University Parkway in Lakewood Ranch. Work likely will be done in March. No money has been allocated to repairs along Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. • CDD 2 Supervisor Pete Bokach noted the mailbox at the Legacy gate had been removed by the U.S. Postal Service because the entity said it did not belong to them. Residents had been complaining the box was full. Town Hall staff has been directed to make a formal request to the U.S. Postal Service to place a mailbox in the area of the Legacy gatehouse. • CDD 2’s budget workshop will be held at 3 p.m., Feb. 24, at Town Hall. • Supervisors continued the meeting to 1 p.m., Jan. 27, at which time they will discuss how to proceed finding a replacement for Bob Fernandez, executive director of Town Hall. Fernandez on Jan. 18 submitted his resignation, which is effective Feb. 18. • Supervisors approved for staff to move forward with Phase 4 of the IDA’s irrigation study, which will include prioritizing potential improvements that are site specific, definitive solutions and include cost estimates for mitigating inefficiencies in the district’s irrigation system. Both CDDs 1 and 4 currently have unarmed patrols with Allegiance. Officers are tasked with observing and reporting suspicious activity in the area. Contact Pam Eubanks at peubanks@yourobserver.com.
