Irwin Lowenstein, a 30-year Longboat Key resident, celebrated his 80th birthday Aug. 17, with his wife, Joel, and his five children. The family celebrated in Saratoga Springs, where they all dressed in Kentucky Derby-style attire. Suzanne Reiman, Lowenstein’s daughter, said that horse racing is a lifelong passion for her Louisville, Ky.,-born-and-raised father.
