Carroll gets final word The Rev. Vincent Carroll delivered his final sermon Sunday at Longboat Island Chapel. Carroll, who is retiring after three-and-a-half years, welcomed interim minister the Rev. Bill Friederich and his wife at the service.
Operation Kindness beats goal Operation Kindness Florida, Inc. raised $72,000 at its annual fundraising event in April, at the Longboat Key Club. The funds raised will go toward K9’s for Warriors, Building Homes for Heroes and the Paws for Patriots program at Southeastern Guide Dogs, which all benefit wounded veterans in Florida. The organization is gearing up for its next fundraiser July 5, at Café L’Europe.
