On the morning of Nov. 24, the Coldwell Banker Realty on St. Armands Circle operated more like a bakery than a real estate office. Realtor Roger Pettingell hosted his 19th annual Pie Day, in which he hands out Yoder’s Amish Bakery goodies to his customers. This year, he gave out about 130. Customers pre-selected their pie from Pettingell and drove by to pick it up from the town’s top Realtor. If customers were out of town, Pettingell made a donation to All Faiths Food Bank instead of purchasing a pie. “Pie Day is one of my favorite days of the year,” Pettingell said in a news release. “It gives us a chance to show our customers how thankful we are that they chose us to help them buy or sell their homes, and we get to see them and catch up.”

Attendees took plates and glasses of wine out to the Gulf-side tent.

Longboaters do nothing halfway. July Fourth parades, Easter egg hunts, cool cars that end in vowels (we’re looking at you Ferrari and Tesla owners). So as the holiday season gets closer and closer to the big day, we want to share your taste in decorating with your neighbors. The Observer will be on the lookout for homes and businesses decorated for the holidays. And we’ll be especially attentive to anyone who can pull off the winter wonderland look captured in the above photo. Share with us what impresses you by emailing reporter Nat Kaemmerer at NKaemmerer@ YourObserver.com for possible publication in the Dec. 17 issue.
