Library turns page on new season efore Longboat Key Library volunteers could enjoy their lunch, they first had to get to know one another. Attached to each of their backs was the name of an author featured in the library. The 25 volunteers had to walk around the room and ask others “yes” and “no” questions to figure out which author they had been assigned. The room quickly filled with laughter and chatter as volunteers caught up on their summers and made new friends. The game was part of the library’s welcome back luncheon Nov. 17 at Windward Bay condominium, which featured a buffetstyle lunch. The library runs on the support of membership fees and a staff made up entirely of volunteers. Volunteers make their own schedules usually work a half day one to three times a month. The library is always looking for new volunteers. For information, call 383-2011.
