Murray Brooks

Murray Brooks celebrates 95 Longboat Harbour resident Murray Brooks recently celebrated his 95th birthday with more than 100 neighbors. “It’s such a warm feeling,” Brooks said. “It was just so nice to have this kind of celebration and have it be so well attended.” Brooks has lived at Longboat Harbour for 38 years.

Edith Barr Dunn’s legacy continues Last week, the Longboat Key Kiwanis Club received an anoynmous $5,000 donation toward the Edith Barr Dunn Scholarship for students in the nursing field. “Edith had a longtime relationship with the Kiwanis Club and helped out at fundraisers with her 50/50 raffle,” the donor said. “This is on Edith’s behalf, and she would be very pleased even though she’s no longer with us.”
