Special delivery for Sheridan Alanna Hall had one final task to accomplish as a student representative of Braden River Middle School. Hall competed her eighth grade year in May, but on June 22, she delivered colorful bibs to The Sheridan as part of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter at Braden River Middle. Members sewed the bibs. Hall delivered the bibs with FCCLA adviser Jill Bergeron. “They are great for protecting their clothing,” Bergeron said. “I had noticed they did not have any bibs that were for every day. Most of them were holiday related and most were also better suited for the ladies, so when we made the bibs, we picked fabrics that were for everyday use and some that would be nice for the men to wear.” The bibs were donated in honor of Dorothy Haywood, Bergeron’s mother who was living at The Sheridan until she died in March.

Friends ... lend me your ear “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience,” was intended to run until April 24, but attendance remained solid. Therefore, the exhibit was extended through July 24. Panther Ridge’s Adriana Guzmán-Rouselle (above) grew up in a family of musicians, which connected her to art. Having previously enjoyed the Van Gogh Museum during a trip to Amsterdam, she was eager to visit the exhibit at University Town Center. “I think it was very innovative,” she said. “It’s kind of interactive, and the movement was impressive.” Lakewood Ranch resident Desiree Cruz said she enjoyed her first experience so much that she brought her mother, Claudia Seville, on her second trip. “It was amazing because you experience the artist in a different way,” she said.
