JoAnn Snedeker and Joni Pensack (above) of the University Park 9-hole Club were two of the driving forces in organizing a March 7 benefit golf tournament for Turning Points’ Yellow Ribbon Program. The event, which includes a golf tournament and champagne brunch, is expected to raise about $5,000. The Yellow Ribbon Program provides assistance and aid to veterans who are homeless or at-risk.

Donation drive Raymond James office manager Kerri Carter (above) loves the feeling of helping others. So she came up with the idea of a community giving event. Her Raymond James Lakewood Ranch office at 11009 Gatewood Drive, Lakewood Ranch, will host a donation drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14. “Lakewood Ranch is growing, and I thought this would be a good way to make it easier for our local community to help a few of the many terrific organizations in Manatee County,” Carter said.
