World of talent Millionaire in the making When Richard Evans, a 49-year-old deputy with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, grows up, he wants to be a millionaire. Until then, Evans (above) will be serving as the school resource officer at R. Dan Nolan Middle School, where he shared fun facts about himself on the first day of school Aug. 10. This is Evans’ second year as an SRO at Nolan. “I look forward to coming to work every day and protecting our most precious resource: our kids,” Evans said. “During my 25 years of law enforcement, being an SRO is my favorite job so far.”

Ambassadors spread the word Greg and Denise Tanno hosted the first Ambassador Trivia Night on Aug. 5 at their Indigo at Lakewood Ranch home. They served cocktails and cakes while those who attended learned how to better serve the needs of the community through the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund. The Community Fund board would like to increase the number of active members to help support fundraising and awareness. For more information on how to become involved, call 914-9422.
