Clean living helps animal rescue Last summer, Braden Woods’ Susan Ford decided to pick up a new hobby — making soap. Ford combined her passion for astrology and spiritual work to make soaps in the shape of Buddha, Cupid, Jesus and a fairy, among others. The soap is made of goat milk and essential oils. Now Ford is donating partial sales of her soaps to Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue. Ford said she wanted to raise money for the rescue because the nonprofit is in the process of expanding its facility on Lorraine Road.

Birthday queen on the Ranch Lakewood Ranch resident Delynn Dorman (above right) celebrated her 67th birthday June 18 at Pinchers on Lakewood Main Street alongside her best friend and neighbor, Ann Prichard. “She’s the most special person in my life,” Dorman said. “She’s the person I wanted to be with. It wouldn’t be my birthday without her.” Dorman and Prichard met after being two of the first residents to move into Lakewood Ranch’s Harmony neighborhood.
