Paige Jessop, a first grader at Braden River Elementary, knew how she wanted to dress for Career Day March 30. She put on khakis and a gray shirt with the word “Guardian” on the back and grabbed a pair of handcuffs. Jessop dressed as her hero, Bill Radle, the guardian at the school. Guardians are security guards placed at the district’s schools. “I really like Mr. Bill, and I like how he protects the school,” said Jessop (above with Radle). Jessop wants to protect schools when she grows up. Radle said he was surprised to see a student dress as him for Career Day. “It was awesome,” he said. “She’s a good kid.”

A new spring break destination? Kaylee Mayes and Savannah Gaast (above) spent a night of their spring break visiting Music on Main April 1. The two “best friends” are juniors at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and said Lakewood Ranch is a great destination to relax and celebrate their 21st birthdays. The two friends are visiting Mayes’ parents, Lakewood Ranch residents Meghan and Chris Mayes. “You can always guarantee the weather will be nice,” Savannah said. “We’re used to very unexpected events (in St. Louis), lots of rain and snow.” “The whole Lakewood Ranch area is so much fun,” Kaylee said. “A lot of really great restaurants, and lots of little shops that you can peek into.”
