Tara crowns first bocce champs After four months of competition, Tara’s Joyce Chaffee (above) and her teammates took home the cup for Tara Golf and Country Club’s first bocce tournament on the club’s new bocce court. Chaffee, along with her husband, Jim, and Tara’s Clifford and Diana Hodapp and Jack and Ginger Leahy, beat 19 other teams to claim victory. “We were walking up to the bocce courts going, ‘Who knew?’” said Chaffee, who was the team’s captain. “We just came down to have fun. New executives add more recess Elliot Kennedy, a third grader at Robert E. Willis Elementary, put on a suit for his big day at school April 23. Kennedy took over as principal for the day with Bristol Scott (above with Kennedy), a first grader at the school, by his side as assistant principal. “It feels good [to be principal] because you get to move around the school, and you get to help kids who need help,” Kennedy said. With their new power, Kennedy and Scott gave their classes 10 minutes of extra time at recess.
