Bashaw Elementary STEAMs ahead All aboard the William H. Bashaw STEAM engine. Principal Joshua Bennett and Assistant Principal Beth Marshall, along with other teachers at the elementary school, performed a skit Friday, Sept. 4, during a kickoff assembly to celebrate the launch of the school's new goal to reach certification as a school that focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Bennett steered the BES Express train with Marshall, who pretended to examine the school for STEAM certification points. Different teachers, who will be a part of the STEAM team, pretended to be from different parts of the world. “It gets kids excited and involved,” said Susan Bischoff, a fifth-grade teacher.
