on the cover

The cover painting is a portion of “Glade,” 34 inches by 60 inches oil on canvas, by Craig Rubadoux. The painting will be featured from Feb. 1 through Feb. 25, at Dabbert Gallery in an exhibit featuring Rubadoux and fellow Sarasota artist Robert Baxter.

Rubadoux moved in 1945 to Sarasota with his family when he was 8 years old. He later began his work as an artist by painting landscapes and Ringling Bros. Circus performers. In the past 68 years, his works have been displayed in public and private collections across the nation.

His artistic career has been outlined by his fluid use of pastels, careful and unusual composition and conjured characters. To see more of his work, visit dabbertgallery.com.
