HEART OF YORK BIKE RIDE, throughout York. What better way to wrap up the summer months, than with an enjoyable bike ride with friends? Oh, wait... how about doing that while also raising funds for a very worthwhile cause? The Heart of York Bike Ride will get rolling on 3rd September, offering participants (aged over 14+) a choice of a 22 or 40 mile route. 15th-16th YORK NATIONAL BOOK FAIR, York Racecourse. The eternally popular and always fascinating York National Book Fair returns. The York Book Fair has grown into the largest antiquarian and out-of-print book fair in the UK. Around 210 leading booksellers offer for sale a breathtaking diversity of books, as well as maps and prints, ranging in price from just a few pounds up to tens of thousands of pounds. There will also be a range of trade stands selling marbled papers and binding materials. With books on subjects ranging from children’s fiction to history, and architecture to cooking, this is an event that never fails to impress or to offer something for all budgets, ages and interests.
