Kitchen upgrade
If your kitchen has been surveyed and needs to be replaced, the following information may be useful. New kitchen floor and wall units will be fitted along with new worktops, sink and taps. Please note: If you refuse access to complete the work once it has been agreed and orders for materials placed, there is a risk that you will still be charged. Before work starts
Your Project Officer will inform you of the start date at least 14 days in advance A kitchen designer will call at you home to design the new kitchen to fit your needs. If you intend to change any of your appliances or white goods ahead of the work starting you will need to tell the designer so they can be included in the design It is your responsibility to empty your kitchen cupboards and clear all worktops before the work starts You should store all electrical items such as kettles, toasters and microwave ovens. This will prevent any damage. The contractor will disconnect your gas or electric cooker to make sure the work is carried out safely. Your Project Officer will advise you if any carpets, furniture or white goods need to be moved. This will prevent damage during the work. If you need any help to move carpets or furniture due to your age, disability or ill health you will need to tell your Project Officer so they can make arrangements. Pets will need to be kept in a separate room or out of the property
What work is involved?
We will survey your home first to decide if the work is needed You will be offered the choice of: o At least 3 types of kitchen unit fronts o A range of different coloured worktops o A range of different coloured floor tiles o A choice of paint colours for the walls We will write and tell you when work will start on your home
