Over 50 people attended this year’s Leaders’ Retreat in Darwin

From the fourth to the seventh of August, selected Young Living Australasian Silvers and above attended the 2010 Leaders’ Retreat in Darwin. These members have demonstrated their commitment to Young Living and fostered the growth of their own organisations through a skill critical for success: leadership. Time was well spent, discussing how best to continue the growth of Young Living Australasia well into 2011 and beyond while providing our members with the best service available. We were privileged to have Doug Nelson, CEO of Young Living, and his wife, Sally, join us for the retreat. Doug took it upon himself to unveil something many of our leaders had been waiting for: the US NFR programme for the Australian market. NFR stands for ‘not for resale’, and allows members to purchase products direct from Young Living in the US that are otherwise not available in Australia. While a number of US Young Living products contain ingredients restricted by Australian federal law, hence are banned from the NFR programme, many other products

are available to purchase. As the NFR programme is completely external to Young Living Australia, any questions need to be directed to Customer Care in the US. A wonderful highlight of the retreat was our visit to the Blue Cypress plantation and distillery. Blue Cypress is an oil found in many of Young Living’s essential oil blends, including Brain Power. Leaders were able to see Blue Cypress trees growing in their natural habitat and learn more about the distillation process. As well as this, everyone was treated to a crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River. It seemed the crocs were jumping higher than usual on this particular day. Everyone put it down to the fact that Alan Simpson, a new Platinum, added a few drops of peppermint oil to the river water! The 2010 Leaders’ Retreat was a successful event, enabling Australasia’s top business-building leaders from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia to come together and share ideas on how to continue the outstanding growth of Young Living in this region.

Why? I use frankincense on my face every day—it makes my skin glow! I also add a few drops of peppermint to my peppermint tea for a refreshing, healthy drink.

Product tip

Peppermint essential oil 15ml (Item No. 361402)

‘While trying to move house recently, my husband was attempting to put our cat in its carry cage when the cat (who is normally not aggressive) severely scratched him. This resulted in deep cuts on the back and front of his hand. As most of my medical kit had been packed, I washed the cuts with some surgical spirit and reached for my handbag where I keep my peppermint essential oil, which I normally use for neck pain. I applied peppermint to all the cuts and scratches, which immediately reduced the pain. I reapplied peppermint direct on the skin again after his shower. My husband was able to fully function the next day, moving all the furniture. He says his hand has healed better than new. If he didn’t believe in the oils before, he does now! ’ Lawrie and Scharryn Kneen
