Bateq emotional environment is in sync with their landscape their identity and sense of place are inextricably linked.
We need place to feel, We need spaces to feel grief, We need space to feel joy and hope, We need space for being alone and taking action together, We need space to care and cultivate, the earth need us to care.

Time has passed, years since I left the forest, for the last time, yet still it holds me.
I close my eyes, Wet with tears, land I feel the forest hug me, As an old friend.
The trees close about me, The bird song stirs my heart, And a deep longing fills me, To see it one last time .
To walk in nature’s cathedral To smell the forest after rain, To hear life like a heart beat , Vibrating through the canopy,
Now only in my thoughts and dreams.
The illustration aims to capture the essence of Bateq Tribes settlement in its different periods, particullarly during the past, anthropocene era ,future visionary of symbiocene era.

Without the jungle, they have nothing, and without access to power and schools there is also no way for them to integrate into society. If we did not bring them food, they would not survive. The process of globalization and capitalist encroachment of habitation areas (eg. artificial plantation, tin mining settlement, changes of land use) of Bateq tribes has posed a treat towards their community livelihood, both physically and emotionally. Batek groups have been deterritorialized and relocated to the forest fringes. “They’ve lost their means of production and survival and been robbed of their cultural autonomy. The Bateq, like the rainforests of Malaysia, exist in the long shadow of the past, within a chaotic presentand without a future. To enter the forest today is to beconfronted withthe chainsaws ofloggers andthe shotgunsofillegalpoachers.
Catastrophic deforestation-related flooding in 201415 badly affected the river-dependent Bateks. According to COAC, “Their physical and mental health declined rapidly after that. And never really recovered..”

Industrial culture has simplified much of the planet’s living diversity into’ slave’ monoculture plantation.
The Kuala Koh park entrance was described on TripAdvisor in 2018 as “dreary miles of oil palm plantations, unending… The river is muddy, forests disturbed…A heavy and oppressive atmosphere of decay”. As of January 2019, most of the children have dropped out of school because leaving their families for boarding schools has become the only option. Their home was ravaged as thousands of acres of jungle were flattened and replanted with palms.

To prevent the tribes falls into the same fate again, as well as preventing monoculture madness is causing Earth's life support systems to collapse, ideas to helpusmoveawayfromourerroneousecocidalworldviewareurgentlyneeded.
The Symbiocene is a meme that represents the very opposite of the period of human dominance known as the Anthropocene The new meme has been created to achieve nothing less than a complete change of the biophysical and emotional foundations of society from the ecocidal to the symbiotic, from the destructive to the nurturing. While the Anthropocene is generating despair and desolation, the Symbiocenegivesgenerouslyhopeandoptimism.

Visitors walk down the dark angled stairwells and then into a corridor. The design allows visitors to establish and coordinate relationships with architecture through unique experiences of the maze of movement in the underground space. The entrance that passes through the two voids, where the wall meets at an acute angle, does not show the space ahead but filters it, introducing the remaining pathway as mysterious, while creating a dramatic atmosphere
