Little Movers (Creative Dance)

Get active! Develop posture and concentration. For boys and girls.

Working without parents, a creative, fun-filled session with movement and games that builds fitness, co-ordination, confidence and imagination through play.

2-4: perfect introduction to dance using basics of ballet movement and language.

4-6: basic intermediate skills in a fun, creative environment.

6-9: build on technique and musicality without the pressure of exams in this creative session.

Parents & Tots

Street Jazz (a.k.a. Pop Style!)

A fun session to build confidence, coordination and fitness. It gives parents the chance to connect in a new way with their children through structured movement and play. A great chance for you and your tot to socialise, too!

A high tempo, energetic class. Using jazz styles, with some streetdance mixed in, you can choreograph routines to your favourite tunes from the charts and films. And you can help select songs and styles that you’d like to use. Most of all, this class is lots of fun!

Street Styles A combination of breakdance and streetdance. Includes hip hop – old skool (popping, locking, waving) and nu skool (krump, house and more) – a high energy, positively focused way into the funkiest moves on the street.

Saturday Street Crew A performance group learning streetdance and breakdance skills to take out onto the streets and stages of Yorkshire, with opportunities to perform in showcases around the region. All Crew members receive a free t-shirt.

Yorkshire Dance is in the cultural quarter of Leeds city centre, opposite the BBC building and Leeds College of Music, next to the Northern Ballet / Phoenix Dance Theatre building, over the road from Leeds City bus station and 15 minutes’ walk from the train station.

There is limited on-street parking outside Yorkshire Dance, but there are plenty of public car parks within easy walking distance.
