Having been in the retail sector for over 40 years working with the likes of Morrisons, Sainsburys, Antler, Nike 1948, etc., and written books on how to ‘do’ retail; Owen shares that knowledge and experience with Farm Retailers. The key objective of this session is to ‘Keep more of the money you take’ with better purchasing, stock control, pricing, marketing, layout, etc. We will look at retailing as a primary function and use the same management techniques as are used on the High Street to obtain maximum profitability from your farm shop.

We’re not just talking about till systems here, this session will really get you thinking about how to improve your communication and planning tools and more. The Fresh Retail team will also share some free applications to help simplify business processes.

Dr John Blakey is the founder of The Trusted Executive, a leadership development organisation that helps board leaders across all sectors adapt to the ‘new normal’ of trust-based leadership using the unique models and tools from his books ‘The Trusted Executive’ and ‘Challenging Coaching’. ‘The Trusted Executive’ book combines prize-winning research to create the Nine Habits of Trust at Aston Business School, together with the learnings from John’s successes (and failures!) as a former FTSE 100 international managing director and serial entrepreneur. The book was shortlisted as the Chartered Management Institute book of the year in 2017.
