Our Lendal Suites are multifunctional spaces which can be split into two rooms, which works great for smaller meetings, training days or conferences.
Each room includes our simple AV package with a projector, screen and complimentary Wi-Fi, and can accommodate for a variety of layouts including Workshop, Theatre, Boardroom and Standing.
The newly renovated Clifford’s Lounge is a great space for informal meetings or product launches. The lounge comes equipped with a bottle bar and adjoining kitchen for private drink receptions and intimate dining experiences.
Our exhibition hall is a large, open plan space that offers versatility for any conference or event requirements.
The hall is a great space to dress, easily accessible for set-up and can provide an amazing backdrop to your event.
Able to hold up to 40 exhibition stands, the space can offer theatre style seating for up to 400 guests as well as a catering space for guests to enjoy a working lunch.

“We have been using the Barbican for a weekly drop-in coffee morning for a number of months. The staff are professional, supportive and flexible to our requests, as well as being friendly and welcoming to our clients. The location is great, being so central, and the rooms are a good size, well equipped with tables and chairs which are always set out ready for us on arrival. We would definitely recommend the Barbican as a venue. “
The requirements for Refugee Action York (RAY) were simple yet profound: Every Thursday morning, York Barbican hosted a weekly drop-in event run by RAY, to support Ukrainians displaced by the war in their home country. The event gave anyone who needed support the chance to drop-in and get advice from a team of dedicated volunteers.
As a charitable initiative, we offered our space and our events team to support RAY. Over the weeks, our team became an extension to the RAY team often being the first person our visitors would meet. Through their varied skills they showed compassion to all visitors while maintaining that level of excellence needed to deliver seamless events on a regular basis.
The York Barbican is located a five minutes walk from York city centre, just opposite the city walls. It is easily accessible by public transport and by road.
Behind York Barbican, there is a Q-Park available for guests with limited accessible parking and electric charging points. We also have bike racks available on our concourse, with vehicles and contents left entirely at owner’s risk.
