Introduction:

This project aims to pay tribute to the late musician Tupac Shakur.

Tupac Shakur was a legendary figure in the music industry of the 1990s, whose work reflected political, economic, social, and racial equality issues. He was a highly acclaimed artist known for his radical revolutionary consciousness. This collection is a collaboration with Lloyd Jung, a menswear designer from Central Saint Martins, and it is dedicated to commemorating the great musician Tupac Shakur and paying homage to the impact of his work.

Drawing inspiration from Tupac Shakur’s documentaries, music, and interviews, the project explores the fashion of 90s hip-hop culture. It incorporates a range of iconic Tupac elements into the creation of printed fabrics, which are then integrated into the clothing collection. The design collection emphasizes both the practicality of the garments and the innovation of the fabrics while retaining the characteristic elements of clothing in hip-hop culture. By experimenting with injecting smoke into PVC fabrics, the project successfully demonstrates the fabric’s effect as a different medium of expression.
