Understand all about chemical testing for different materials

How do chemical tests work, what are their characteristics, and what are the benefits?

1. Composition Analysis

• Known also as elemental analysis, composition analysis can determine what elements are present qualitatively or quantitatively. To determine the chemical composition of a sample, spectroscopy is often used, depending on the material being tested. Material quality can be affected by impurities found during this process.

•It is possible for products to become contaminated during the production process. There are a wide range of products that can be contaminated, including chemicals, flexible electronics, cosmetics, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, and petroleum products. In chemical testing, contaminants can be identified, and the manufacturer can then identify and rectify the causes of contamination based on the results.

•There are a number of ways in which contaminants can be detected, including particles, cloudiness, surface residue, or residue left over from the manufacturing process.

3. Metal Testing

•In most cases, chemical testing of metals is nondestructive; however, alloys must usually be broken down to determine their exact composition. Unmarked pure, common metals can be identified by comparing the results with chemical property databases.

•Testing metal and alloys (forged mixtures) is used to identify foreign metallic substances and specific substances that shouldn't be in the alloy or to determine their composition and properties.

4. Materials Testing

• There are a variety of materials used in the manufacture of most products, each of which affects the product's overall quality, durability, and regulatory requirements. Polymers, plastics, metals, ceramics, and paper, among other materials, can be tested for material properties. Thermal Conductivity Testing Lab

5. Regulatory Testing

• It is likely that your product must meet consumer protection laws as well as health and safety standards in the market where it is intended to be sold. When your products reach the intended market, you can be certain they won't be rejected or recalled based on chemical testing.
