AGORA Zentrum, Zurich Complex Construction Studio 01 07/2023 The Zurich Zentrum campus, situated across the river from the historic old city of Zurich, is home to several academic institutions, including the Zurich University.

Agora is the home of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences of the Zurich University, a new center of civilization and culture in the heart of Zurich.

The project aims to draw from history, and remain deeply rooted in its historic context, while taking part in shaping the contemporary city and campus.

The massing of the building is influenced by a study of the historical monuments that neighbour the site, while the plan is inspired by the birthplace of the humanities - the Greek Agora.

A 45° degree rotation of the fabric of the city, pivoting at the project site, manifested as a rotation of the internal structure and spaces of the building.

Drawing from the idea of the archaic Agora of Elis, the plan was conceived as a continuous flow of diagonal spaces; a series of floating objects in a continuous open space. The objects in plan are the structural cores, the staircases, and the triangular voids. A 45° concrete waffle slab structure covers the span between the perimeter columns and the cores, leaving the space between the objects completely free - any sound insulated spaces were created using transparent partitions.

VKHUTEMAS100 Museon Park, Moscow Architecture Design Studio 3 02/2021 Celebrating 100 years since the establishment of the Vkhutemas, the Russian avant garde school of art and design, the project aims to create an ideal museum of the Vkhutemas. As an ideal expression of the memory of the Vkhutemas, the project aims to create a space in which continued research in the spirit of the Vkhutemas can take place alongside exhibitions of original materials and ideas.

Furthermore, the design itself attempts to embody the ideas of the Vkhutemas, by combining the future oriented ideas of constructivism with a complex attitude towards Russian traditions.

The project is conceived as a system of underground spaces, each relating to its own function and structure, interconnected with a system of tunnels. Developing the spaces underground reduces the impact on the historic site and takes advantage of the thermal mass to better control the environment during Moscow’s long and harsh winters. The project is also inspired by Moscow’s rich tradition of underground spaces, not least of which is the famous network of neoclassical metro stations. The portions of the structures that are visible on the ground level, hint at the development of the spaces underground.

PIAZZA GORLA 2.0 Gorla, Milan Architecture design studio 2 07/2020 On the site of an abandoned market that used to function as the heart of the Gorla neighborhood, a new communal center is created. The main topics of this project are the revitalization of the neighborhood, and the treatment of the corner of the block. The existing urban fabric is extended into new structures, which house new functions that revitalize the area, while maintaining a large portion of public open space within the block.

The corner of the block remains open, creating a piazza. This tangible void at the part of the block that normally houses the tallest building of the block, serves to emphasize the importance of the site in the urban fabric, and to accentuate the two main buildings of the project.

In the center of the block, the renewed municipal market is located one story below ground level, with a small plaza in front of it. This serves to increase the amount of open spaces available to the public, while allowing for a continuity of the public space on the ground level as well.

NEOM - THE LINE Saudi Arabia Internship at Pei Cobb Freed Pre-Concept Phase / 2022 NEOM - The Line is the city of the future. It is conceived as a linear city, 170 km long, and is attempting to challenge the idea of the city.

With a strong system of public transportation and infrastructure along the line, the city will have no cars. Along the line the city is envisioned as a vertical city, within two 500m tall blades, creating a canyon between them. Our proposal includes a system of pedestrian streets at height, as well as a monumental central park suspended between the two blades.

My role started with making a series of physical, study models, followed by precedent studies and conceptual diagrams. I then joined the team effort of building and modifying the Rhino model as the design evolved; I wrote a grasshopper script that allowed us to progress quickly with each design iteration. I was also responsible for the coordination with the external firm that built the final presentation model for presentation of the design to the board and Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Finally, I helped the team effort of creating and post processing visualizations of the project.

COMPETITION ENTRY SPACE & FLIGHT EDUCATIONAL CAMPUS 2nd PLACE Maale Adumim, Isreal With: Jonathan Zisser, Yaniv Hatiel & Arch. Amin Yassin February 2023 The Space & Flight competition was an open competition for the design of a new educational campus for several institutions in the town of Maale Adumim. Our proposal was conceived as a continuous system that developed along the contour lines of the site, with a pedestrian passage as the spine of the complex. This central spine creates public space for the town and the users of the campus, while serving as a circulation space within the complex. The institutions are placed on either side of the spine, stepping down from it along the topography, creating a subtle differentiation of space between the main public thoroughfare and the semi public space belonging to each institution.

The main volumes of the institutions are composed of continuous concrete shells, under which alternating interior and exterior spaces are placed. The combination of interior and exterior spaces under the long continuous shells creates a strong connection between the spaces and the surrounding nature, as well as creating framed views towards the expansive views that surround the site.

PHOTOGRAPHY Photography has always captivated me, but it became a significant part of how I travel and perceive buildings since I bought my camera in the summer of 2018. Viewing buildings through the lense of my camera allows me to abstract specific elements from the intuitive perception of space, and understand better some aspects of the architecture.

Furthermore, the camera is more sensitive to light than the human eye, creating stronger contrasts and clarifying the role of light in a particular space.

Black and white photography further focuses our attention on the light in the image, as well as the materiality of the space. I feel that photography has helped me develop my understanding of architecture as well as helping me develop my aesthetic sense.
