Nationwide membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the U.S. through membership at your “home” YMCA (the local association that you enrolled as a member). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals where you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities. We understand that sometimes it is more convenient for members to take advantage of a Y near their workplace or when they are traveling. With nationwide membership, members have the flexibility to use participating Y facilities throughout the U.S. at no extra charge. Please visit ymcaofmewsa.org/membership/ member-benefits for details.

YMCA online registration is a convenient way to register for your favorite YMCA programs. Our online registration allows you to:

 Register for programs  Make payments online  Sign up for membership Go to ymcaofmewsa.org and follow the directions to log onto your membership account or scan the QR code.

The YMCA reserves the right to make any schedule changes when necessary and notifications will be made whenever possible. A full refund will only be issued if a member withdraws seven days prior to the first class. After this date, no refunds will be issued. Memberships are non-refundable and are valid for registration and participation in other programs for one year from date of purchase.

We never want your membership commitment to be a stressful one! If you need to leave for any reason, stop by the Welcome Center before the first of the month to cancel. We welcome you back within one year and we will waive the Joiner’s Fee.

For your safety and your family’s, we conduct regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation and remove visitation access.

All classes have a maximum and minimum number of participants. When possible, classes will be added to accommodate wait lists and to expand those offerings that are in high demand. Classes below the minimum will be combined when possible, and as a last alternative, will be cancelled.

Diana was looking for a safe place for her brother David, a special needs adult with social anxiety, to be healthy during the day while she worked from home. David was excited but nervous to engage in aerobics class activities which made some members cautious as he watched them to learn the moves. As a result of our caring staff and members, he was able to engage fully in the classes at his own pace. David has become an engaged member of our Y community and now dances away in Zumba! He can also be found swimming laps and shooting hoops most mornings. David has become healthier, engages socially with everyone, and is a joy to have in our Y family. Please say hello gently when you see him at the Y as he is excited to have this story written about him. -South Amboy YMCA

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION/SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR CHILD’S DAY!

Our programs uses the evidence-based CATCH Curriculum to implement activities, education and environments that encourage healthy living. Although this programs core goals is to prevent chronic disease we also know that research shows how physical activity helps children learn better. CATCH stands for Coordinated Approach To Children’s Health. As a YMCA our priority is to offer programs that support healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. We feel this program enhances our childcare program by providing positive environments, good role models, and a partnership with our parents in keeping children healthy.

HOLIDAY CAMP & SCHOOL’S OUT TRIPS

We took a chance with our summer camp going to the YMCA’s Oakcrest Pool. From the time the Pool Director met me on a freezing cold January day to show me around the facility to our last visit at the pool, things went perfectly for us. Our kids found the facility to be very clean and the staff very accommodating. We are happy to have already booked for next year!
